Chapter 4

Darryl's POV

When I got back to my pride house, I was instantly bombarded by questions. Mainly, from my beta, Leo.

"You sure it was a good decision letting them go??"

"I don't know man okay?? Just let me get a drink first." I said to him before making my way to the kitchen.

"Some pride members are concerned Darryl. They say that those wolves that trespassed earlier was the start of something bad."

"What could they possibly do?? They've just come out of a costly war Leo. I doubt they'd try and take us on in their state." I then gulped down a glass of water.

"Werecats haven't had an incident with those slobbering mutts for years. If you ask me, finding three wolves in our lands are a cause for concern. And about those three, what was the deal with that one guy?? The one who looked to be youngest of them."

"I don't know." I sighed. "But one thing's for sure. He's very powerful. And come to think of it, you're right. Send a message to the council of what happened. And I want our patrols to be more alert. Report anything suspicio.."

"Alpha, we've trapped two rogues in our lands on the southwest." I suddenly hear one of my patrol's voice.

"I'm on my way." I say before cutting off the link.

"Leo.."

"I know. They've just linked me." He cut me off.

"Good then let's go."

Leo and I didn't waste time. We both ran out of the pride house before shifting into our cat forms.

You can probably guess what kind of big cat Leo is by his name. While I shifted into a large black panther.

As we ran, it was like we sliced through the air and before long we saw our patrols cornering two figures.

When we reached them, we were offered a change of clothes after we shifted. So now, I stood in front of the two intruders.

"Look at me." I say in my alpha tone and I saw them shudder before they look up at me.

"Who are you?? And what are you doing in our lands??" I question. It was a male and a female. And from the scents that reached me, they were rogue werecats.

"M-My name is Lorence and this is my sister Rose. We truly apologize for trespassing in your lands Alpha but we had no choice. We were being hunted by vampires." My gaze on them softened a bit.

"What pride did you both come from??" I added.

They both looked at me anxiously. "W-We have no pride Alpha. We were born and raised as rogue by our parents before they died. Protecting us from an attack by those bloodsuckers." Rose explained and that's the time that I truly looked at them.

They both looks very similar in some features. Same dark hair and the very same brown eyes.

"Then where are you both headed?? That doesn't answer the reason for both of you entering Clawtooth lands."

"We... We wanted to ask you..." Lorence looked unsure.

"Ask me what??" I patiently wait.

"We wanted to ask if we could join your pride." Me and Leo were surprised by this. It wasn't really common for prides to take in rogues. But now these two are asking just that.

"If.. If that's the case then we'll talk about this in my office." I say and that was the signal for the patrol to lower their guards.

"Thank you Alpha." I hear Lorence say.
