Chapter 43

Jayden's POV

"You all have to block faster!!" I yelled when I saw the performance of the warrior's defence. "Block then takedown!!"

They then again, did what I had taught them with their partner.

"Alright everyone stop!!" I yelled out before sighing in frustration. "You all need to remember that some vampires move faster that us. You know what that mean?!"

None answered.

"That means that the moment that you react to their attack it'll be too late!! Cause you'd be dead!!" I saw some of them flinch at my tone.

"So you need to be even faster!! And from what I'm seeing, all of you could use some help in that aspect!!" They all stared at me worriedly. I could also see some fear in some eyes.

It was then that I felt a hand on my shoulder. And when I turned to look at who it was, I saw Tobias standing there.

"Perhaps you should give them some rest." He said.

I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Yeah."

"Alright everyone, fifteen minute break!!" Seb yelled out and everyone went to rest up.

"What has gotten you so worked up today??" Mason asked me as he took a sip of his water.

"Nothing, I'm fine." He still didn't look convinced.

"Uhuh. Define fine." He added to which I ignored him and drank my water.

"Hey Jay. Don't you need to go meet up with Taylor and Lucas??" Leo asked me.

I was suspicious on why he decided to come to training as he's always been absent recently as to what the others said but then I had to act natural until I find out what he and Tracy are up to.

"Yeah, thanks for reminding me. What time is it??"

"Uh, quarter to one." He answered.

"I gotta go then. But Mikey, can I talk to you for a minute??" He nodded his head and followed me away from the others.

"I need you to keep an eye on Leo and Tracy. If they do anything funny, find me right away." I whispered enough for him to hear me.

"Yeah, I was gonna do that even if you didn't tell me to." He said. "Don't worry."

"Thanks Mikey."

I made my way towards where the garden was and there I saw Taylor sitting down on the grass as Lucas played with his toys beside her.

"You're here." She said when she saw me.

"Yeah." I then went to pick up my son. "How long have you two been here??"

"Maybe an hour or so." She answered. "You hungry?? I made some snacks in case you are." She then went to get them but I quickly stopped her.

"No, I'm not hungry." I said as I kissed my pup's hand.

"Here, sit beside me." Taylor said as she patted the ground and since I didn't want to break the somewhat peace, I complied.

For a few minutes, there was silence between us to which I didn't mind as I didn't feel like talking with her anytime soon. But I guess she thought otherwise...

"You and I used to do this all the time with Mikey. Remember??" That made me turn to her. "Back in Bloodrose territory."

"I remember." I said, turning away.

"It's really nice to do this again with you." I didn't answer.

Suddenly, Lucas gave out a little sneeze to which Taylor and I chuckled at his cuteness.
