Chapter 69

Jayden's POV

After training, we all decided to hangout for a bit. Since we weren't that hungry for lunch and we also couldn't do this very often cause of being busy with our duties. So we had to make the most of this.

"So Jay. Tell me what did Alpha Dick want??" Tobias asked which made some of us raise a brow at him.

"What??"

"Dude, that's the best you got??" Mikey mused.

"I'm not the kind that guy that would talk bad about someone often." He defended.

"Hmm. A powerful warlock, too kind to talk bad about someone who deserves to be kicked in the butt. I would have punched Nick in the face a while ago when he came here but something stopped me." Mikey said.

"What stopped you??" Mason curiously asked.

"Well there's this human law that I read about. It states that if I punch Nick's lights out, there'd be a chance that I'd be charge with animal abuse. Literally." Smiles and chuckles could be then seen and heard in our group.

"Alright, I gotta admit that that was good." Tobias chuckled.

"I learned from the best." He said before turning to me. " Jayden's the real master here. Taught me everything I know."

Maddison raised a brow at me teasingly.

"What??"

"You're being a bad influence." She said.

"I am not." I defend. "We're just... Having fun. And it's not like we talk about everybody. Just the ones who deserve it."

"Yup. Right Flatty??" Mikey refered to Cindy before covering his face with his hands.

Cindy just glared at him before rolling her eyes. And when Mikey knew he was safe, he slowly uncovered his face.

"Whoa, I really thought you were going to hit me." He said.

"Can't..." She said as she turned to him with a teasing smile. " Cause that would be animal abuse."

Mikey's surprised expression made us all laugh out. I guess he really didn't expect her comeback and that only made it even more funny for us.

"Dude, you just got served." Darryl mused.

"Oh just shut up." Our young friend scoffed. But you could see a tinge of redness on his cheeks which made me turn to my mate knowingly.

"Is it still on??" I asked her quietly.

"Of course. There's still a chance." She replied which made me smile at her.

"Jay." I hear someone call me which made me turn to Darryl who tapped on his watch.

Looking at the time on my phone, I saw that it was almost 2pm. We had to meet with Leo in a while.

"We have to go." I said as me and Darryl got up. They all knew, so none asked where we were going.

"See you guys later." I said before kissing my mate on her cheeks. "See you later."

She gave me a smile as me and Darryl walked off into the forest. We've told Leo to meet us near the edge of the capital's territory to minimize the chances of him getting caught by the patrols.

"So, Jacob's dad went back home today. I though he was going to stay for a few more days. Any reason as to why he had to go in such short notice??" I asked as we walked through the forest.

"He didn't exactly tell me. Said he had sudden duties that he needed to address. Also, he said he'd personally go to Clawtooth to tell them to prepare for our arrival." He said.
