Jayden's POV

My guilt grew when Maddison and I visited my dad and Alpha Timothy. The state I put them in, all bandaged up...

But they assured me that they were alright and that I had nothing to be sorry about.

Now, me and my mate made our way to Mikey's room. I still found it hard that she was really here with me. And that she was, all this time. I just didn't see it then. But I guess I felt it...

All those emotions I felt for her when she was still Rose. All those confusing feelings of attraction towards her.

The sparks...

The warmth...

Now it all made sense.

I slowly took her hand in mine, not missing her slight flinch as I did. Ros whimpered at our mate's reaction and she must have noticed this from my expression.

"Sorry. It's just..." She didn't finish. "Just know that it has nothing to do with you." She said before giving me an assuring smile as she squeezed my hand.

I was about to say something when a scream caught our attention.

"Help!! She's gonna kill me!! I'm too young to die!!"

"You better have thought of that before, you brat!!!"

Came two familiar voices, and I could already guess what had happened.

"C'mon guys, this is a clinic. Cindy!! Put it down!!" Cole's voice then came as we got closer to the room.

"Huh?? No way!! I'm gonna put this little shit in a medically induced coma!!" The werecat screamed.

"I'm no doctor but I know for a fact that slamming a chair at his face isn't exactly a medical prociedure." Lindzey's voice came and we took that as our cue to walk in the room to see the chaos.

The four of them froze as we entered.

Mikey, who was lying on the bed all patched up, was looking in horror with Lindzey as they looked at Cindy who was holding up a chair while Cole tried to stop her.

"What's going on here??" I managed to say.

"Ms. Crazy here is trying to finish me off!! I still have hopes and dreams, so you have to help me Jay!!" He pleaded but I just gave him a pointed look.

"What did you say this time Mikey??" I asked.

"Wah??? Nothin!!" He defended.

"The hell you did!!" Cindy snapped.

"Oh sure, blame Mikey. Hmph." He said as he crossed his arms, or at least tried to as it was difficult to do with one of them broken.

"Mikey..."

He rolled his eyes before sighing out a few seconds later.

"I just said that she looks like a tomato in the dress she's wearing." He mumbled lowly but I still heard it clearly.

"You also told me to not have my back towards you when I'm talking to you!!" Cindy added and I raised a brow at her.

"And you got mad cause of that??" I asked.

"No!! I got mad cause I was ALREADY facing his direction when I was talking with that little brat."

Okay, now I understood...

"Mikey..." He immediately raised his left hand in defence.

"I was kidding."

"You know, Cindy helped take care of you while you were passed out. You've got to give her some appreciation." My mate said in a scolding manned.
