Chapter 26

Jayden's POV

It's been a few minutes after we both calmed down. Honestly I don't know why I broke down im front of her but I just felt that I could trust her with the things I had in my mind.

"I'm sorry." I said to her softly and she confusedly.

"For what??"

"Breaking down." I sighed. "I don't know why I..." She suddenly cut me off.

"You have nothing to be sorry about. Everyone gets sad Jay. Everyone need to let it all out once in a while. You're the dark wolf, yes. A very powerful wolf, but that doesn't mean that you don't have the right to be sad and to cry. For me, it takes a pretty brave wolf to show his true feelings. Or anyone for that matter. Anyone who's not afraid to show what they really feel is brave. Cause not just anyone can do that."

I didn't know what to say. And what was I to say?? Just by what she had said I felt a bit better.

"Thanks." I say, smiling at her before looking up on to beautiful scene. "You know, you kind of remind me of her."

"Of who??" She asked.

"My mate." I say and I didn't miss the fact that her body stiffened.

"You alright??"

"Y-Yeah. I just felt a cold night breeze hit me." She explained.

Hearing that, I got up from the poolside and took my towel before putting it around her so that she can at least keep warm.

"Thanks." She smiled.

"No problem." I replied giving her a smile of my own.

"Uhm.. w-what were you saying before just now??"

"Oh.. uh, I said that you kind of remind me of her. Of my mate, Maddison." I say.

"How so??" She curiously asked.

"She was headstrong. Not afraid on doing anything if she believed it to be right. Just like what you're doing right now. You being here with us going to Hollow knowing that it could be very dangerous. You felt it right for you to be here and you are not afraid to face the danger head on." A blush came upon her face, and I smiled cause she looked a bit cute. But weirdly so, there was another reason...

"Why are you smiling at me like that??" She asked snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh uh nothing. It's just that, even your blush and smile remind me of her." I say, scratching the back of my neck.

We looked at each other for a few seconds when suddenly a loud horn sounded as a car passed by making me jump in surprise.

'Humans' I thought feeling a bit pissed on being surprised like that until a giggle snapped me out of it.

"What's so funny??" I asked her.

"Oh nothing. I just find it a bit funny that a ferocious wolf like yourself would be easily surprised by a car horn." I scoffed at that.

"Well we don't usually hear any cars back in the our packs."

"But still, it's a bit funny to see your reaction." I rolled my eyes at her but still, there was an amused smiled on my face.

"So I'm curious. What are you scared of?? You know, the trivial stuff like heights, snakes, anything like those."

"I'm not scared of anything." I immediately say to her and she just gave me a pointed look. "Really now?? Everybody's afraid of something."

"Not me." I said as I looked at the pool when suddenly, I felt something crawling on my back.

"Oh my Goddess there's a big spider on your back!!!" Rose screamed out with a scared face.
