Jayden's POV

When Maddison and I got to our assigned rooms, we took our chance to rest a bit before the arrival of all of our wounded along with the bodies of our dead.

Lying on our bed, I was playing with Lucas while I let my mate take a bath first before me.

A knock on the came. And when I opened it, a warrior was standing there with what looked like some clothes with him.

"Excuse me sir, but I'm here with the baby clothes that your mate requested for." He said.

I didn't know that she had some clothes delivered for Lucas. So seeing as she went on to do that for my pup, made a smile appear on my face.

Thanking the warrior, I took the clothes before gently closing the door.

"Who was it??" I hear Maddison ask me as she exited the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel.

"A warrior. He brought the clothes you wanted for Lucas." I said as I turned my back towards her to give her some privacy. She's my mate yes and we've already seen each other completely naked but that doesn't mean that I won't give her some privacy while she changed.

"Oh yeah. I was wondering if it'd be okay that I give him a bath??" Turning back to her, I saw that she was still weary only a towel.

"Yeah. I bet he'd love that." I then turned back to my son who was now crawling on the bed.

I quickly went and sat on the bed. Putting down the clothes before gently picking him up.

"Right little guy?? You like getting your baths right??" I coed before ticking him on his neck which resulted in cute giggles being heard in the room.

"Jayden, you there??" I stopped tickling him when I hear someone's voice through my pack link.

"Yeah, did you need anything Garreth??" I asked as Lucas kept on fidgeting in my hold.

"I just heard from some warriors that the first batch of cars with some bodies and wounded are nearly here. Also, Darryl just called. He was in a car with your mom and said that they were nearly here as well." He said the last part more gently which I appreciated.
"I'm still looking for your brother to tell him too."

"Let me tell him. I'll look for him while I head there right now. Are you outside of the building??" I asked.

"Yeah. I'm with Timothy and Councilman Charles as well as the medical personnel who are standing by." Garreth answered.

"I'll head there right now." I said before cutting of our link to turn back to my mate.

"It was Garreth. He said that the cars that are carrying some wounded and some of the bodies are nearly here." She didn't say anything as she slowly sat down beside me before placing her hand on my shoulder.

"There's something else you want to tell me??" She asked in a gentle tone.

Gently holding Lucas's arm, he curiously looked up at me with those blue orbs of his which along with Maddison's soothing hand made me feel a bit better.

"Darryl's about to arrive with my mom." I say in a low tone. But even though, I knew she still heard me.

"Can you stay here with Lucas?? I don't want him to see all of those dead as young as he is." I felt my son using his small hands to take hold of my fingers as he sat on my lap.

"Of course. I'll take care of him." She said. I gave her a small smile before slowly handing him Lucas who had no quarrel with getting carried by my mate.
