Chapter 75

Maddison's POV

Like what we had planned, when Nick and the other alphas got back we left to everyone who lives in the capital's surprise.

But with their surprised looks also came unsureness and worry.

They knew.

They knew that the forces that they had left would be very incapable of their defence when the needs come to be.

But we had no choice.

I knew why my mate wanted to do this. For the plan to work we only needed those who we can trust.

We trusted the council but they were bound to protect the other packs so even if they wanted to help us, they couldn't.

"Hey, mind showing me around??" I was snapped out of my thoughts when Loury came.

Smiling, I eagerly nodded my head at my best friend.

"Sure. But only after I get my things to my room."

"About that.." we were both surprised to see Jayden behind us with that cute smile on his face but I could also see that he was nervous about something which I was confused about.

"Can I uhh.. Can I talk to you for a minute??" He asked.

"Why is mate nervous??" Fia asked, just as curious as I was.

"Beats me."

"Maybe he wants to ask us to mate with him??" I almost tripped at my wolf's sheer bluntness. Luckily, Jayden caught me.

"Oh my Goddess, Fia!!" I scolded, feeling myself blushing as a certain scene came to my mind.

"What?? That's the only reason I could think of." She defended.

"Hey, you alright??" My mate held my hand and I blushed even more since I could get that scene off of my mind.

Quickly trying to push it away, I looked up at my mate with a smile as I nodded my head at him. "Yeah. I was just talking with Fia. Didn't see where I was walking since I was a bit distracted."

"Oh, and here I thought you were distracted by me." Came his teasing tone which made me give out a soft laugh.

"You are so full of yourself." I said, playfully rolling my eyes.

"Well that would explain why you were about to fall." He then kissed my hand. "Falling for me??"

"I just tripped, Scaredypup. And plus, I don't need to fall for you cause I already have."

"Booo. You two are so cheesy!!" We both looked surprised before chuckling as Mikey passed by, carrying his stuff with him.

"I swear, he always pops up when we least expect him to." My mate mumbled before looking back at me.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about??" I asked and he again went to being nervous.

"O-Oh uh... I uh.. I was wondering if.. I wanted to ask if you wanted to.."

"Definitely nervous." Fia mused, before giving out a huff.

"Jayden why are you nervous??" I chuckled at him and he scratched the back of his head.

"This is harder than I expected." He mumbled.

"What is?? Just tell me." I said, smiling at seeing him like this.

"Okay, I'm just going to say it." He said before breathing out. "Since we're both comfortable with each other to an extent... I wanted to ask you if... if you'd want to move into my room??"
