Chapter 70

Jayden's POV

When we finally neared the territory's edge, both Darryl and I tried to catch Leo's scent which we actually didn't need to do since he was already waiting for us by a tree.

"He man. How long have you been waiting??" Darryl asked him.

"Not long. About five to ten minutes I think." He answered as he shook his alpha's hand before greeting me.

"So here are the files on Marcus's patrols. I've read it through. Infiltrating his camp on the night of the blood moon won't be easy." He explained as he gave me the folder.

"Oh we're counting on that. How are things going through with Miya??" I asked.

"Things are good I guess. She and Taylor have been hanging out so she got some informatiom out. Everything's in the folder." I nodded but noticed that he was acting a bit weird.

"Leo, is something wrong??" His eyes widened a bit when he looked at me before turning away.

"We've. We've heard something from some of the rogues and vampires." He started.

"What did you hear??"

"An ambush. An ambush is about to happen tomorrow. Somewhere in the Neutral Lands, west." He explained.

Darryl and I looked at each other before turning back to him.

"We already know." I said. "Marcus managed to trick the council and a pack alpha. They don't even know that they're walking into a trap."

Leo looked surprised by this. "They don't?? Then."

"I've already tried to warn them Leo." I cut him off. "But they won't listen. This is on them. Now, I should tell you now that the day after tomorrow we won't be here anymore. We're leaving the capital along with the casters and werecats."

Leo again looked shocked by this, but decided not to question for the reason why. "Then, where are you all moving to??"

"Back to Clawtooth." Darryl answered. "We're leaving the pack wolves on their own since they're so keen on doing so."

"Well I guess I'll just head to Clawtooth when I give you more things that we'll be able to find out."

"Yeah. But other than that Leo, how's my pup?? How's Lucas?? Is he doing alright??" I asked him with worry.

"He's fine, Jay. Though, Miya says that Taylor doesn't exactly know how to take care of him sometimes. But don't worry. My mate's making sure he's alright." I sighed out.

"Thank Leo. And can you tell Miya that I really appreciate her taking care of him." He gave me a nod.

"Well I guess I better get back."

"Be careful Leo. Make sure that Tracy and Miya are safe as well." Darryl said.

"I will. Till then guys." And with that, he walked his way back out of the capital's territory.

"We should get back." He suggested to which I agreed before we started heading back.

"We gotta discuss this with the others." I said, talking about the folder in hand.

"Yeah. Maybe later after dinner??" He said and I nodded in agreement.

Soo enough we finally arrived back. Darryl proposed he give Garreth the files so I gave him the folder and went back to my room.

I was feeling a bit tired from training today so I decided to take a nap since it was a few hours before dinner.

When I opened the door, I saw my mate lying down on my bed burying her face in my pillow.
