I'm in a really bad mood rn so.....

I'm putting characters in a rly bad mood too cuz that is my (un)healthy coping mechanism

Anakin ran, colliding down onto the temple steps as his legs gave out from beneath him. His hands were at his face in an instant, wiping away his tears, and clutching desperately at his hair.

He gasped as he ripped out a huge chunk of it, practically oblivious to the pain.

His sobs caught in his throat as he tried to keep himself quiet. He didn't need anyone rushing out after him.

Ahsoka and Obi-Wan stared at one another, eyes wide. 

"What was that all about?" Ahsoka asked, eye markings raised impossibly high. Obi-Wan's open mouth closed as he cleared his throat.

"I... I have no idea," he sputtered. "I've never seen him get like that before. After all, we were only joking."

"Should we go after him?" she asked.

"Perhaps we should give him some time to-"

"Master, this is Anakin that we're talking about. I highly doubt that he ran away to meditate and release his feelings to the force," Ahsoka interrupted, lifting her hands to make finger quotes.

"Yes, I suppose you're right. Very well- go on after him. He probably doesn't want to speak with me since I was the one who seemed to have upset him." Obi-Wan gestured to the door, and Ahsoka gladly dashed out of the room.

It took her about ten minutes to find him crying on the temple staircase.

"Anakin!" she called, rushing to his side. She gasped as she took in his state.

His red-rung eyes flicked up to meet hers before being covered by his hands once again.

"I'm fine," came his muffled reply. "I just... need a minute."

"Oh. I- we're sorry for what we said. We were only teasing like usual. We didn't think that it would upset you so much," she spoke, standing awkwardly above him.

"It wasn't you or Obi-Wan," he sighed as she sat down. "It was just... sort of the last straw."

Ahsoka furrowed her markings, wishing she could read him better by looking him in the eye. However, he stubbornly refused to uncover them.

"I already know that you're crying," she said, nudging his shoulder. "There's no use in trying to hide it from me."

"You know me so well, Snips," he laughed softly, removing the gloves from his face. 

"What do you mean," she began, tugging his head gently to rest on her shoulder, "that it was 'the last straw'?"

She moved herself a step higher so that he wasn't uncomfortably hunched over.

"It's just... agh," he muttered, relaxing into her grasp as she wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Everything just gets to be too much sometimes. But I don't need to burden my Padawan with all my struggles."

"Try me," Ahsoka replied, taking another step as she combed her fingers through his hair.

"What are you doing?" he chuckled.

"Master Kenobi always pets you when you're upset!" she defended. "Am I doing it wrong?"

He opened his mouth to correct her phrasing of 'petting him', but laughed quietly instead, saying,

"No, Snips, you're fine." He smiled up at her. "Really. And as for what's going on... sometimes my responsibilities are really, really taxing, and... and when I'm already constantly screaming my insecurities at myself in my head and then someone voices it out loud, even if it's a joke... like I said- it's just too much."

"Am I one of the taxing responsibilities?" Ahsoka asked quietly after a few moments.

"No. No, of course not!"

"Oh. Okay, good," she sighed, relieved. "Master, I think you should take a break and go to Senator Amidala's apartment," she said quietly.

"What?" he asked, immediately tensing up again.

"You always seem so much more relaxed when you get back, and I think that you need a break. I can cover for you. I just want you to be okay."

Anakin relaxed, reaching up to hold her hand.

"Thank you, Snips... for everthing. I don't know what I would do without you."

"You'd be very bored," Ahsoka stated, smirking.

"Yeah, I suppose I would... you're the best."

"I know."

I need more fics abt Soka learning about hair and just being confused by human things hahaha
