Part 2 to "Snips" cuz some peeps asked for it :)

"You know, I really thought that you'd be happy with me for doing this!" Nyx shouted.

"You hacked into my comms!" Ahsoka countered, slamming her fists down onto the table. "I don't care what your intentions were! I thought I could trust you!"

"Ahsoka, you know why I did it! You clearly miss him- you said it yourself the other night! You probably both need closure from whatever it was that happened! I was just trying to hel-"

"You're not helping! You just don't understand. You don't kriffing understand," she muttered, shaking her head.

"Tell me then! Tell me what I'm not understanding!" Nyx snapped back. When she gave him no response other than an angry glare, he turned on his heel and began to walk off.

"When?" Ahsoka asked quietly before he could get too far away. Nyx turned back around to see her back facing him.

"What?"

"When am I supposed to meet up with him? Just tell me what you discussed with him," she sighed, finally breaking and turning to face him.

"Tomorrow morning. Breakfast at Dex's Diner. He said he'd try to get there around 0700."

"Okay," she said, her voice still very small. "Okay."

"I'm sorry. I know I overstepped. I- I shouldn't have done that."

Ahsoka took a deep breath. She closed her eyes.

"Just ask me first next time... please."

"Of course."

--------------------------------

"Don't expect him to already be here," Ahsoka stated as they entered Dex's.

"How come?" Nyx asked, looking around at the restaurant, crowded with early morning eaters.

"That man has never once been on time in his life," she chuckled, seating herself at her and Anakin's usual table. Nyx sat across from her, raising an eyebrow at the prices on the menu.

"Is this really expensive to you?" Ahsoka asked.

"Well, for a grubby little place like this, it's a bit much," he replied, picking at the chipped paint on the table.

Ahsoka rolled her eyes, laughing quietly.

A bell rung, signaling that someone had just opened the door.

Ahsoka and Nyx looked up in unison.

And there he was.

"Hey," Anakin greeted in a whisper. Ahsoka offered a smile up to him before he took his seat beside her.

"Hey."

"Hi, it's nice to meet you! My name is Nyx."

Ahsoka face-palmed, laughing at the way that he had quickly taken the awkwardness away from the situation.

Anakin raised an eyebrow, shaking the boy's outstretched hand. He arched another brow as Nyx stood up.

"I'm going to go check out that shop across the street. I could use a new jacket," (another eye roll from Ahsoka) "and you both could use some time to catch up. Breakfast's on me. See ya later," he said, leaning forward to kiss Ahsoka's cheek before dropping some credits onto the table, and striding out of the diner.

"That was-"

"-abrupt," Ahsoka finished.

"Hey, you can still finish my sentences pretty well," Anakin chuckled.

"What was it that Master Kenobi used to say about us?"

"That we shared a brain cell," Anakin replied proudly.

"I'm not so sure that was a compliment," Ahsoka laughed. Anakin grinned, shaking his head in agreement.

They made eye contact for a moment as the laughter died, each lifting a corner of their mouths in a smile. The moment was shockingly familiar, reminding them both of when Anakin had accepted her as his Padawan.

This felt normal.

"So... Nyx?" Anakin asked, smirking. Ahsoka raised her eyebrows, challengingly tilting her head to the side.

"So... Padme?"

Anakin's face went red. Of course he knew what she was referring to. The news of his wife's pregnancy was all over the news, though, no one knew who the father was.

"We're... scared. Both of us. We don't know what we'll do when the baby comes."

"I can help," Ahsoka offered quietly.

"No, I didn't mean to manipulate you into coming back-"

"No," she interrupted quickly. "You didn't. I want to help. I promise."

"Whenever you're comfortable, Padme has said that she'd be glad to give you one of her guest rooms. I'm not trying to pressure you, but just know that you'll always have a home at our apartment. You'll always have a home with me," Anakin promised.

"I know. Thank you... Skyguy," she finished, her smile small, yet genuine.

"Certainly been awhile since I've heard that one," Anakin whistled, leaning backwards. "Oh, you're boyfriend's back." He pointed to the door, nudging her. Ahsoka glared at the mocking expression on his face.

"He's not my... eh, he kind of is," she decided as Nyx entered, sitting down at their table.

"Buy a jacket?" Anakin asked.

"No, Sir," Nyx replied. "Everything's expensive up here."

"'Sir'?" Anakin repeated. "What's with the formalities."

"Ahsoka told me you'd try to kill me if I wasn't polite."

"Snips, you did what?" Anakin laughed, turning to face a nervous looking Ahsoka.

"Well, you told me that you wanted to kill Lux!"

"Lux was a jerk!"

"You're a jerk!"

"You're a dumbass! Don't shove me!" Anakin snapped as he stumbled out of the booth. He crossed his arms, shaking his head as he tried not to let his smile slip out.

They were arguing like they used to.

Normal.

"Fine, you want me to turn the dad mode on? I will. Nyx, what do you do for a living?" Anakin asked, jokingly lowering his voice to sound more intimidating.

"I fix and upgrade ships," he answered. "Er... we fix and upgrade ships," he added, gesturing to Ahsoka.

Anakin's eyes widened excitedly.

"You do?! Ahsoka, he's perfect," he replied. "I approve of this relationship."

"Thanks," Ahsoka muttered, rolling her eyes.

"Shall we order our breakfast?" Nyx suggested, faking an accent.

"We shall," Ahsoka responded in the same silly voice.

"Double date tomorrow?" Anakin whispered to Ahsoka as Nyx opened his menu.

"I'll be there," she replied, her smile brightening as Anakin wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

"I'm glad you're back," he stated.

"I'm glad we're back... Snips and Skyguy."

"The best duo."

"Yes, we are."
