headcanon monday!! the one that got the most votes was submitted by Ahsoka_Fan12, who i was planning on dedicating a chapter to soon, so I think this works perfectly hahaa
"Shhh!" Anakin hissed as Obi-Wan entered his quarters, a smile pulling at the lips he'd raised his finger to.
"What's going on?" Obi-Wan whispered, kneeling down next to Anakin in front of the couch.
"She was asleep on my couch when I got here," Anakin said, gesturing to the Ahsoka-sized lump of blankets before him, "so I went to go tuck her in, y'know?"
Obi-Wan nodded.
"And then I just rubbed one of her montrals like I do when I'm teasing her and-" he broke off into a fit of quiet laughter, reaching forward to demonstrate the action for Obi-Wan.
As soon as her master's fingers made contact with her lekku, she hummed out a quiet sound from the back of her throat.
"Hear that?"
"Yes, Anakin, she's purring," Obi-Wan chuckled. "Did you not know that togrutas did that?"
Anakin shook his head, staring down at his padawan- so tiny on his couch -in wonder.
"It's a natural reaction when they feel comfortable, safe, and content," Obi-Wan explained, wondering if he would have better luck talking to a wall- Anakin's focus remained solely on Ahsoka as the way he linked his fingers with hers elicited another quiet purr, a sleepy smile accompanying this one.
"That's amazing," he whispered in awe as she did it again.
He wondered what she was dreaming about- something happy and peaceful he hoped. That's what she deserved.
"You realize that you make her feel that way, right Anakin?"
"What?" he asked, finally turning away from Ahsoka to see the smile that Obi-Wan was trying to hold back.
"You make her feel safe, young one. She clearly loves you very much," Obi-Wan continued, laying a hand on his former padawan's shoulder.
Anakin looked back down at Ahsoka, and then at Obi-Wan again.
"I'd better be going now." Obi-Wan squeezed Anakin's shoulder, rising from his place on the floor.
As soon as he had left the room, Anakin leaned down to whisper.
"Love you too, Snips."
As she was asleep, she didn't reply with words... just a gentle purr.
