Ahsoka sat cross legged on her couch, her mind heavily focused on counting the credits that she had earned from repairing ships that afternoon. After leaving the order, it had turned out to be her only source of income.
Since it was a holiday weekend, people seemed to be a bit more generous with their payment, which she was extremely grateful for. Though her apartment was tiny and cramped, it still took quite a bit of money for her to pay for it.
The knock on her door startled her. She jumped, and placed her credits on the table. Her jaw dropped when she opened the door.
"How did you find me?" she gasped.
"Good to see you too, Snips," Anakin greeted, walking right past her and placing a large box on her carpet.
"What are you doing here?! You can't just barge into my home and- What are you doing?"
"I don't think that anyone should be alone for the holidays," he stated simply, beginning to string lights up around the room.
"Anakin! You need to leave!" she exclaimed, her heart aching. She knew for a fact that if he stayed for too long, there was no way that she wouldn't get attached and want to go back with him.
"No," he replied, not even looking at her. "You're lying if you say that you haven't missed me."
"I..." she bit her lip. "I never said that," she whispered.
"I could use a hand over here," he said, waving her over.
They silently decorated her little living space, Ahsoka not daring to look close enough to Anakin's face to make eye contact.
"Hey, why won't you look at me?" Anakin asked. Ahsoka's eyes widened.
"I- ugh. You're the worst," she muttered, a small smile filling her face.
"Well, I'd better be going now," he stated, walking over to the door. "Good to see you, Ahsoka!"
He closed the door behind him.
He waited in the hall.
One...
Two...
Three...
The door flew open, and the Togruta tackled him with a hug.
"There it is," he whispered, patting her back. "I knew you'd come around."
"I... I wish I could come back... I really do... but you know can't," she whispered. He nodded.
"I won't make you," he promised, leaning his head against hers. He pulled back after a few seconds. He stared into her eyes for a few moments. "Happy holidays, Snips." He smiled warmly.
"Happy holidays, Skyguy." He turned to leave, but she called to him once more. "If you... ever wanna come over again, you know where to find me. Don't be a stranger." She smiled back.
"Will do."
