Ahsoka climbed off of her speeder, smiling quietly to herself as the faint echos of the words "She's here! She's here!" carried through the walls of the Skywalker household. She had been Auntie Soka for six years, yet, the excited greetings from the twins never got old.
As she had finally finished her last year of University, she was ready for a well-deserved break with her family. It had been almost a year since she had seen any of them in person.
She slung her bag over her shoulder as she knocked on the door, nearly being knocked over as the six-year-old twins charged at her- Luke wrapping himself around her legs, and Leia making a wild jump into her arms.
"Hey, kiddos!" she greeted, smacking a kiss on Leia's cheek, and ruffling Luke's hair. "What's new?"
"We got a lothcat!" Leia exclaimed. "Luke, show her," she ordered, staying comfortably where she was in Ahsoka's arms. Luke grabbed her unoccupied hand, dragging her down the small hallway.
"Come on!" he called as they ran to the living room.
"I'm coming!" Ahsoka laughed in reply.
"His name is Boo, and he's really grumpy," Luke introduced, gently stroking the back of the animal. "Well, he's grumpy to everyone except for me," he added with a smirk.
"I see," Ahsoka chuckled, sitting down on the couch. She shifted Leia into a comfortable position on her lap. "You must be pretty special then."
Luke beamed as Leia rolled her eyes.
"He's not grumpy with Mom either," Leia responded, returning the smirk from her brother.
"Oh, speaking of Mom, she told us to tell her when you got here; she's watering the plants out on the balcony," Leia said. "Luke, go get her."
"No, that's alright," Ahsoka replied, lifting Leia off of her lap and standing up. "I'll go and see her." She reached out one hand to each of the kids, allowing them to pull her through the house until they reached the balcony.
"Mom!" Leia called loudly, opening the doors. "Auntie Soka's here!"
"Well, it's about time!" Padme joked, striding across the ground to hug her. She greeted Ahsoka with a kiss on the cheek, smiling brightly.
"Well, I had to stop and pick up some gifts for my favorite niece and nephew," she answered, returning Padme's hug.
Luke's blue eyes widened, and he squealed excitedly. Leia began jumping up and down.
"Front pouch," Ahsoka told them, passing her bag down to the two of them.
"You didn't have to get them anything," Padme said, shaking her head with a smile.
"I know, but I wanted to," Ahsoka responded, returning the grin.
"Glad your done with school?" Padme asked, wiping the sweat off of her forehead.
"Very," Ahsoka responded. "I've missed you all so much."
"We've missed you too. Especially those two. They haven't shut up about you for the past week," Padme chuckled. "They've already gotten into fights over who gets to take the first ride with you on your speeder."
Ahsoka laughed loudly, looking down at the twins. Luke was already pretending to fly the model spaceship he'd received around in circles, and Leia was tying her new ribbons into her hair.
"What do you say?" Padme coaxed.
"Thank you, Auntie Soka," they chorused in unison.
"My pleasure," Ahsoka answered.
"Could you braid this one into my hair?" Leia asked, lifting a green ribbon up to her.
"I'd love to." Ahsoka lifted the girl up onto her lap on the bench, giggling at how she had already taken after her mother with her sense of fashion. "Later, we should braid some of these into your Dad's hair," she whispered, making both Leia and Padme laugh.
"He's going to flip when he sees you," Padme said. The two of them had planned her visit as a surprise for Anakin. He wasn't expecting her to arrive until tomorrow. "Ooh, I should go move your speeder so he doesn't realize you're here yet," Padme suggested, standing up.
"I could go get it-"
"You've got your hands full," Padme continued. "I'll be right back."
"Thanks!" Ahsoka called.
"Prepare for landing on Auntie Soka in 3... 2... 1!" Luke called, flying his ship into the valley between Ahsoka's montrals.
"Ahhhh!" Ahsoka giggled, tying the bottom of Leia's braid into place. "Alright, finished!"
Luke hugged his arms around her neck, standing up on the back of the bench.
"Thank you for my ship," he repeated.
"Aww, you're very welcome," Ahsoka replied, turning her head to plant a kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you for braiding my hair! You're the best," Leia said, hugging her in gratitude.
"I know," Ahsoka joked, pulling Leia's braid over her shoulder. "So, Uncle Obi's a no show? I thought he was supposed to be here already."
"He left a little while before you got here. I think that he went to meet up with Daddy," Luke explained.
"He said something about Daddy dragging him in to go get some spare parts. Then he went like this." Leia rolled her eyes to give Ahsoka the example.
"Yes, I can definitely see him doing that," she laughed.
"He's here!" Padme whisper-yelled, peeking her head through the door.
"Alright, c'mon guys." Ahsoka stood up hoisting Luke onto her back for a piggy-back ride. Leia held her hand as they entered the house.
Luke hopped down off of Ahsoka's back as the sound of a door sliding open echoed through the house.
"Did you really think that he was going to lower the price?" came Obi-Wan's voice.
"Well, the famous Negotiator wasn't being of any help," Anakin's voice replied. His back was facing his family as he entered the living room, walking backwards so he could face Obi-Wan.
Ahsoka took her opportunity, gently letting go of Leia's hand as she padded over to Anakin.
"Surpriiise!" she sang, wrapping her arms around his back, and resting her chin on his shoulder.
"SNIPS!" Anakin cried, his hair whipping her in the face as he spun around. His hug was so strong that he lifted her off of her feet, making her laugh.
"Hi!" she giggled. She looked over Anakin's shoulder to Obi-Wan, waving him over to them. He slowly wrapped the two of them up between him, grinning widely.
"Someone should've taken a picture of his face," Obi-Wan chuckled as they all let go. "Priceless."
"I thought you weren't getting here until tomorrow!" Anakin exclaimed.
"We lied," Padme replied sauntering over to greet her husband with a kiss.
"Yuck," Ahsoka, Luke, and Leia all said in unison, laughing at their synchronization.
"Shut up," Anakin laughed as they pulled away. He reached down to hug each of his kids. "Everyone's here!" he whispered to Luke excitedly.
"Not Uncle Rex," Leia mumbled grumpily.
"Yeah, why's he missing my big homecoming?" Ahsoka pouted.
"He'll be here soon," Anakin said with a smile, rubbing the top of her lekku affectionately. "We'll get the whole family together."
Ahsoka looked around at everyone.
"Glad to be a part of it."
