He looked down at the ground, a fury burning inside of him that he had only felt on very few occasions. His fists and jaw were clenched tightly as he marched down the hall, slamming the door to his quarters behind him as he entered.

"Woah... what's up with you?" Ahsoka asked, turning off her lightsaber. "Is this about the chair I accidentally sliced in half? I know I'm not supposed to practice with my lightsaber in here, but-"

Anakin slammed his bedroom door, startling Ahsoka. She narrowed her eyes.

"Rude," she muttered, rolling her eyes. She reattached her lightsaber to her belt, and skipped to her bedroom to go get changed into her night robes.

Just as she finished replacing her battle garments with soft, white pajamas, a loud crash from her master's room caused her to jump.

She ran out of her room and gasped. The outline of a fist was protruding from Anakin's door, nearly punching through the whole thing.

"Um..." she began, knocking quietly. "Master...? Are you alright?"

"Leave me alone, Ahsoka," he grumbled. She leaned into the metal, and found that she could easily hear the sound of his boots pacing the floor.

"That's not a very reassuring answer," she sang back. She hopped backwards as the door handle turned.

"I'm fine." He slammed the door in her face.

"Definitely not fine," Ahsoka mumbled.

"I heard that!" he called. "And you're wrong! Everything is just perfect!" he shouted, another loud crash following his outburst.

"Would you like me to leave?" she asked quietly, after a long silence. She was aware of the fact that Anakin could sometimes let his emotions get the better of him, and she did not want to be the reason for his annoyance and frustration. She hated the feeling of being a burden.

His door unlatched, slowly opening.

"No, Snips. It isn't you... I'm sorry. I just... have a lot on my mind," he explained, trying to significantly soften his voice. 

"Okay, well... I hope you figure everything out. I'm gonna turn in for the night," she said, taking a few steps forward. She leaned forward to give him a hug goodnight, but he moved to the side quickly.

Anakin cleared his throat, and placed a hand on his Padawan's shoulder.

"Goodnight, Ahsoka," he spoke, his voice far too formal. His Padawan's face contorted into an expression of confusion, and then quickly turned into hurt.

"G'night," she whispered, sadly walking back into her room.

Anakin closed his door softly. He slid down the wall, and sat with his head buried in his hands.

"Why are they doing this? It's outrageous. It's unfair," he whispered to himself. The council had made it very clear to Anakin that if he did not break the attachment that he had to his student, they would be forced to separate the two of them.

He was angry- no -furious. It was their idea to give him a Padawan in the first place! It wasn't his or Ahsoka's fault that they had quickly become like brother and sister! Things like that just happened!

Anakin sat there for almost an hour, his knees pulled tightly into his chest, as he massaged his temples, trying to figure out what to do.

He picked himself up off the ground, and carefully left his room. He opened Ahsoka's door as quietly as he possibly could. She was fast asleep in her bed, her face calm and relaxed now- not hurt or angry.

He gently lifted her hand into his own, and leaned down to softly hug her.

"I'm so sorry," he whispered.
