The most frightening part of death, she soon realized, was not the horror she felt as the Force pulled her spirit into the afterlife, but the celebration that followed her arrival.
Everyone there, like herself, was dead. Taken from life. Gone.
She had never felt such warmth as she did when her eyes fell upon the smiling faces of everyone she loved. It was as if every single one of them was hugging her all at the same time.
Padme was the first to step forward out of the crowd.
"Welcome home, Ahsoka," she whispered, embracing her tightly.
"I've missed you," Ahsoka responded, her eyes filling with tears. For so much of her life, the mere thought of each of these people could lead to a breakdown.
Now, seeing them again... being one of them, was almost too much for her to take. She let go of her friend, and was immediately greeted with an enormous hug from Obi-Wan.
"Master Kenobi," Ahsoka exclaimed, hugging him back tightly. He wiped tears from his eyes as he let her go.
"Y-you're all here..." he sighed happily. "You're finally all here."
"'All'?" Ahsoka questioned, looking around. Suddenly, she felt herself stumbling backward as she was tackled into the biggest bear hug that she had ever received.
"You're here!" Anakin cheered, lifting her up and spinning her in a circle before placing her back on her feet.
"What are you doing here?" she asked coldly, glaring at him. Anakin's face fell immediately, and his bright smile was replaced with an expression of pure hurt.
"I- I made it here too... It's okay... I-I'm back now," he stammered, looking to Obi-Wan for help. "It's me, Snips."
"Don't call me that," she snapped back quietly. Anakin quickly closed his mouth and turned around. He walked slowly to Padme's side, looking at the ground sadly.
"Ahsoka," Obi-Wan began after a few moments.
"No!" she interrupted. "I know who he is. He doesn't deserve to be here with the rest of us. He-"
"It took all of us awhile to forgive him, Ahsoka," Padme said quietly. Ahsoka turned to face the couple.
Anakin's eyes remained focused on the ground as Ahsoka walked toward him. He raised his head to meet her eyes.
"I'm sorry. What can I do to make you forgive me?" he asked. She shook her head.
"Nothing," she said, a tear crawling down her orange face. "At least... nothing yet. Do you know what you put me through when you turned into that- that monster?! I thought of you everyday. Everyday! I prayed to the Force that one day you would show up, and that you would just be there again... as you!" she cried.
"I know... you have every right to be angry with me. I never meant to hurt you- any of you. You're right that I don't deserve to be here. I thank the Force every day that I was lucky enough to be redeemed," he answered, his eyes filled to the brim with tears as well. "I hope that one day you can forgive me."
Ahsoka couldn't hold back any longer. She ran at her old master, and practically jumped into his arms. He held her for a few moments. She allowed his hand to rest on her lekku- something that she permitted very few people to do.
"I'm trying," she whispered. "I don't want our bond to be broken."
