You surprise him by coming home for his birthday

"good morning handsome" i say in a singsong and which earns a groan from my boyfriend

"fuck you" he says and i smile

"hey it's technically morning for you" i say 

"yeah 3am" he says and i smile and say

"love you too" i say 

"i love you Y/n even through these early calls 

"i was gonna call you later on but they've had to move the filming schedule around" I say 

"it's ok anytime i can hear your voice I'll take, you'd think it would get easier" he says and I laugh

"how has your week been? what's been happening?"

"well me and Stefan have been mostly keeping out of the way from all the wedding planning that's been going on in the house. Caroline is getting more and more stressed meaning if we so much as breathe wrong it means we disagree with her. He's actually been helping me sort out stuff for the move, think he's using me as a buffer so he doesn't have to deal with bridezilla" he says and i smile

"sounds like i'm missing all the fun" i say and he laugh

"Bonnie's been dealing with the brunt of it" he says and I smile

"sad i'm not there" I say 

"i know honey but you'll be back for the wedding" he says and i let out a sigh

"i'm missing your birthday" i say sadly 

"y/n... we've talked about this I don't care" he says 

"you best believe I'm sending the best care package/ present ever" i say 

"y/n, my love,  you aren't getting me anything ok? all I want is to hear your voice" he says

"but" i say but he interupts

"no buts! anyway how's filming going?" he says 

"really good yeah got a few of the more intense scenes out the way last week and today it's just me and Jacob filming" I say 

"oh you doing those scenes today, are they closing the set?" he asks 

"yeah, just us two, Emerald, the intimacy coordinator and a few crew" I say 

"how you guys feeling about it?" he says and I say

"we feel good amd Emerald and the coordinator has talked us through everything and make sure we feel comfortable" i say 

"that's good then" he says "what time do you start today?" he asks

"we start filming in an hour or so, I've had my makeup us is done for the most part the rest can wait until we start filming. So i'm just chilling eating some fruit" I say and I hear a yawn coming through the other line

"sounds good babe" he says and I smile

"i miss you Damon" i say 

"i miss you too" he says. There's a knock on my trailer door and I turn and Jacobs opening the door 

"hey hey hey" he says walking in and i motion to phone and mouth 'Damon' and he nods and walks over to the phone and says 

"hey Damon

"is that Jacob?" Damon asks

"yeah he's just arrived" I say sitting up and there's yawn from the other side of the line

"sounds good" he says mumbling which brings a smile to my face

"and you need sleep so I'll say goodnight, I love you" I say
