Sam took Deena's hand as soon as they both got out of the car and were walking up to the party. Sam looked down at Deena's hand and smile widely at her ring on Deena's finger.
"First off, Sam stop running away. Second, Deena stop having a heart attack when Sam gets mad at you which she was in the right because you lied again." Kate scorned them as soon as she saw them enter the house.
"I swear on my life I won't run away again. I almost passed out from blood loss when I tore a stitch apart from my side as I literally ran away." Sam joked and bumped Kate's arm playfully.
"I can't promise when I get heart attacks but I can promise not to lie, they were justified lies by the way. No judging." Deena rolled her eyes at Kate.
"There she is! The woman of the night! She survived cancer and bullets and witches to be here tonight! Welcome, Sam Fraser, oh how the parties have missed you." One of Sam's friends from the cheer team, Sophie, yelled as soon as they saw Sam.
Sophie came up to Sam and handed her a drink in a solo cup, "Now I know you are love birds and all, you got shot for her, but I must whisk Samantha away."
Sam took the cup and laughed at her Sam looked at Deena, "I'll be back, I promise," she said with a smile on her face as Sophie tore Sam away and disappeared into the crowd.
Deena bit her lip as she watched Sam get dragged from her hand. She started to get annoyed the moment Sophie started yelling.
Simon caught up to Deena and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "So good to see you and Sam finally made it, I assume you stopped at a hospital bathroom on your way?"
Deena pushed him off her and laughed. She kept glancing in the direction Sam was, making sure she looked alright as Sam spoke and laughed with her other friends.
Deena was glad that Sam was relaxing and having a good time at the party, but she missed her already.
She had to watch as the boys at the party looked Sam up and down, she slowly felt herself get angry at all the guys checking Sam out, even though Sam didn't notice it.
Sam kept looking towards Deena also, and mouthed the words, "I'm sorry." Which made Deena relax some and smile at her.
Deena and Simon were debating about a band when Sam caught Deena's eye by going to where the alcohol was and getting more.
"Are you sure, Sam? I don't think you're supposed to drink with your medicine. Or drink this much. Are you feeling okay?" Deena asked once she caught up with Sam.
"Yes, my girl, my baby girl. I'm sure and I'm feeling soooooo much better than just okay." Sam said with a wide smile as she wrapped one of her arms around Deena's shoulders and kissed her lips.
Deena could taste the alcohol on Sam's lips and knew she drank more than she could.
Deena pulled away and put an arm on Sam's waist to balance her in case Sam needed support.
"Sam I really think you shouldn't drink anymore. Those pills make you drunk faster. You're already getting there," Deena tried to convince Sam.
"Just one more, I used to drink so much more than this. I have a high tolerance. Don't worry, my girl, my love, my life and wife." Sam kissed Deena again, but almost fell on Deena as she did.
"Sam we should go," Deena started but was interrupted by Sophie.
"You're get your girl back soon!" Sophie laughed as she took one of Sam's arms and pulled her away again.
Deena watched Sam carefully as Simon caught up with her. "You sure Sam can drink in her meds?"
"Not as much as she's drinking tonight. I'm going to take her home soon before it gets bad." Deena sighed as she leaned on table, watching Sam across the room.
Deena felt nauseous when she saw a group of guys stare at Sam and then whisper to each other.
She was starting to be consumed with anger as one of her hands turned into a fist.
One of the guys in the group walked over to Sam and offered her a shot, which she took the second she grabbed it from him.
He spoke to Sam and she laughed at him, and it took everything in Deena to hold back from pulling Sam away.
She was allowed to have friends that weren't also her friends, but the way the guy and his friends had been staring at Sam all night made Deena furious.
It was when he reached out and touched Sam's shoulder, Deena finally caved into the feeling and marched to Sam.
She pushed the guy away from Sam and he fell into the wall. She took Sam's arm and led her out of the house.
"Deena! Deena stop," Sam tried. She could tell how angry Deena was but she didn't think anything was wrong until he put his arm on her shoulder and before she could yell at him for it, Deena pushed off of her.
"Deena stop! Your hand is grabbing me too tight." Sam tried again.
It wasn't until they almost made it to the car did Deena break out of her thoughts and rage and heard Sam calling her name.
Deena let go right away when Sam told her to stop.
"Deena what was that? Don't be angry, please."
Deena sighed as she looked from Sam to the house. "It was nothing. I just want to go home. I'm not mad."
Deena held the passengers side door for Sam. Sam leaned into kiss her, but Deena pulled away. Which caused Sam to feel hurt.
Sam got in and sat there for a moment, staring at her fingers in lap.
Deena got in and sat there for a moment in silence also. She was more calm now that she was with Sam.
Deena looked over at Sam and saw how sad she looked and her heart ached at the sight.
Deena was frustrated with all the attention Sam was receiving by guys all night. She dealt with it at school but when Sam was drinking as much as she was tonight, Deena was even more angry at them.
She was scared as soon as Sam brought up the party and asked if they could go. She didn't want to lose the Sam that finally had the courage to kiss her.
"Sam, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I got angry. I wasn't mad at you at all. He had been staring at you all night and I couldn't take it when he was touching you. I thought I got over how much attention you got from guys all the time since we started dating, but I just lost it tonight, I'm so sorry."
Deena placed her hand on Sam's back, and the moment she did, Sam bent over and started to cry.
Sam knew that she shouldn't drink much with her medicine, but after the first drink she was handed, she got handed more and didn't stop until Deena pulled her away.
The drinking mixed with the medicine made Sam drunk so much faster and made Sam even more emotional.
"No Sam, I'm so sorry. I was just mad in the moment, not at you. I'm sorry I didn't kiss you." Deena felt guilty and leaned over to wrap her arms tightly around Sam.
"I'm sorry I pulled away from you and the kiss. I shouldn't have. I know that makes you think I'm mad at you but I'm not." Deena kissed the top of Sam's head as she leaned back into her seat.
"It's okay. I get it. I don't mean for people to stare at me. I only wore this for you. I didn't want anyone to look at me except you." Sam calmed down from crying and leaned back in her seat.
"I know you don't. It's not your fault." Deena puts her hand on Sam's knee.
"You look so good, Sam. You do, so beautiful and so hot. I'm more than honored to be your girlfriend."
"Really? I looked good? You liked it?" Sam asked which made Sam smile softly from Deena's words.
"Yes, Sam. You have no idea how beautiful you are. You are always beautiful, no matter what you're wearing. I mean that," Deena said. The look on Sam's face when Sam questioned if she looked good saddened Deena, she forgot sometimes how low Sam's self confidence could be. She was always so angry at Sam's mom who caused Sam to view herself like this.
Deena took Sam's face with both of her hands and pulled her in for a kiss. "I love you so much, Sam Fraser, the woman of the night."
Sam laughed, "I love you too, my girl."
