Sam blew out the candles around Deena's room.
She went to Deena's closet and put on Deena's sweater as she got dressed.
"There's no point of me having any clothes anymore. All I wear are yours." Sam took a shirt out of the closet that she loved when Deena wore and headed it to her.
"No there really isn't. You're always wearing my sweaters or t-shirts. And I love it. It's adorable every time." Deena smiled as she put on the clothes Sam handed to her.
She's never felt this comfortable with being this bare around someone else. She's never even felt comfortable to take her shirt off with a bra on underneath with anyone. Until Sam.
She's never felt judged by Sam for one moment. Sam always complimented her and made her feel loved and safe when she undressed near her or when Sam undressed her.
Sam sat down next to Deena on the bed, taking her hand that her ring was on Deena's finger and running her thumb over it.
"I didn't think I would ever get married. I mean we aren't married or engaged even. But you're the first and only person I've ever wanted to marry. I know it's not legal here yet but there are so many states where it is. I have so much hope for that." Deena spoke as she watched Sam fingers fidget with her ring.
"Man, if only all the people that were scared of you saw you now. Being adorable and talking about marriage that is far away. You're only like this for me, soft and sweet. And I love that." Sam went in and kissed the top of Deena's nose again and Deena laughed as she did.
"Yeah, I know. It's not fun sometimes. I try to be scary and cold and mysterious and tough and then you walk in and I can't think of anything else but smiling around you."
Sam smiled wide at Deena's words and wrapped her arms around Deena and squeezed tight.
"You make me smile all the time too. I promise to make sure you smile everyday for the rest of your life." Sam put her chin on Deena's shoulder as she spoke.
Deena wanted to wrap her arms around Sam too but Sam was holding on to tight for her to move her arms that far. So Deena leaned her head towards Sam and kissed her nose like Sam did to her.
"I can't believe how much of a softie you turned me into. And then you are innocent and sweet to the world but I know when you lock the door when we are alone, you have another side of you that you only show me. And I love that side too." Deena spoke as she put her hand on Sam's thigh once Sam let her out of her arms.
"You're exactly right. Only for you. I'm totally whipped for you and I know you are for me." Sam moved back into the bed and laid down on the pillow she always slept on.
Deena followed Sam's lead and moved to lay down right next to Sam, placing her head on Sam's shoulder. She wrapped her arm around Sam's stomach.
"I love you Sam. This was amazing and adorable and so romantic. And you were so hot in your dress and when I took it off of you too."
Sam laughed, not expecting Deena to be so forward. "I love you too. I'm all yours, Deena. Always." Sam leaned her head on Deena's.
They both felt safe and loved as they fell asleep easily leaning on each other.
Sam's dad finally had time to take Sam for a doctors appointment, her routine checkup every month.
He apologized multiple times to Sam for the past few weeks and bailing on her, and Sam just shrugged and said it was fine.
She didn't tell him but she wasn't surprised by him forgetting about her and just focusing on work when he promised to be there for Sam.
As they waited in the doctors office for test results to be done, Sam's dad cleared his throat.
"You're my only kid, Sam. And I love you. I've been a shit father so many times. I'm sorry. I don't plan to remarry or have more kids. I just want to focus on you and myself. I don't have to pay much to your mom, since she's getting the house. So I really only have myself and you to take care of. Now that you're going to New York with Deena, I wanted to help you both out. You've gone through so much this past year. Between cancer, your mom and me, and everything with Caleb, you deserve a break."
"So I wanted to pay for an apartment for you two. Until you guys get settled in and save up of course. I'll help even after that also. You deserve to have that true love and I'm so proud of you and Deena. How you both love each other. I never had that with your mom, it's rare. So rare and special. I mean it's not going to be fancy or anything. But I'm going to make sure the apartment is safe and nearby your college so you don't have to walk so far by yourself at times."
Sam was shocked by her dad offering to help them. She thought that they would just live in the dorms together but she wasn't going to say no to his offer and be able to make a home with Deena. Which excited her so much more for New York.
Sam leaned over and gave him a hug, not being able to hold it in. She was so excited to tell Deena as soon as she got done with the doctors.
Her dad hugged her back and smiled. "I'm guessing that's a yes."
"Yes. A thousand times yes. Thank you dad. It means everything."
"Of course, Sam. You deserve so much more happiness than what you've gotten. I can only try to make it better now."
Sam was about to speak when the door opened and she turned to face the doctor. The look on his face as he held the test results in his hands scared her and her dad.
