Deena realized how slow and painfully boring school was without Sam there.

She was going right to Sam's house after school with Sam's homework, but she missed being near Sam with every second that went by at school.

"You don't have to look so grumpy sitting with us just because Sam's not here," Simon said as she bumped Deena's shoulder to get her attention.

"You never wear jewelry besides your watch. Let me guess, Sam got you that ring?" Kate asked as she leaned over more at their lunch table to see the ring.

Deena laughed lightly, a blush writing across her face, because Kate was right of course.

"Yes, Sam did give this to me. You're right like always."

Kate smirked, "well don't be vague. We deserve more, tell us what happened."

Deena's blush didn't fade, it grew as she thought about that moment with Sam and the ring. Only Sam knew that soft romantic side of Deena, so it felt strange to her to tell other people about it, even Kate and Simon.

"Well, she..uh, drove us to this spot in the woods, not in a creepy way. Then she put down a blanket with candles lit and...blue rose petals," Deena stopped when Kate gasped, "that's so cute!"

"Anyways....we had cheeseburgers and she brought a stereo to play one of the mixtapes I've made her. And then she said that her grandma gave her this ring, it was in her dads side for a few decades....She said her grandma was the only family that treated her really good and loved her so it's important to her. And her grandma said to... keep the ring close to her heart when she gave it to her right before she died... then Sam gave the ring to me. That's all." Deena shrugged, trying to down play how much she loved the moment and ring.

"What?! That's all! That's so cute and beautiful. I can't, that's adorable." Kate spoke with a wide smile on her face.

"Awwww, she's got you blushing and she's not even here. I bet that you'll never take that ring off again." Simon added, a smile on his face also.

"Oh my God, guys stop." Deena wanted to bury her face in her t-shirt. She could feel how hot her cheeks were.

"She's got the tough, rude, cold, mean lesbo to be soft and cute. Come here," Simon got out of his chair and wrapped Deena up in a tight hug until Deena pushed him off.

"I'm still tough," Deena huffed and crossed her arms, and both Kate and Simon started laughing.

Sam slept most of the day. She did notice that she was feeling weaker lately but she didn't want to worry anyone about it until it got bad.

She spent time on the couch where she could see the front door, as she mindlessly watched TV and waited for Deena.

She was about to fall asleep again when she heard a car door shut and ran to open the door.

Sam met Deena at the front door with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey, I missed you." Deena said the moment she saw Sam.

Sam wrapped her arm around Deena's shoulder and kissed her, "I missed you too. So much. It's been awful and terribly boring. What's this?"

Deena through the front door into the house and lifted up the bag after Sam closed the door.

"Cheeseburgers of course. And your favorite, Reese's. The candy is from Simon of course, I think the grocery store is all out of Reese's now."

Sam smiled and took the bag, "please tell him tomorrow how much I love him and appreciate it."

Sam leaned in and kissed Deena again. "And you're my hero for getting the cheeseburgers. I love you. Thank you."

"I love you too. I brought all your homework. I was going to do it for you while I did mine earlier at school but I know you like doing it when you're stuck at home."

Sam took Deena's hand and pulled her to the couch. She tucked her leg underneath her as she sat and faced Deena.

"I wanted to show you how much I missed you," Sam reached out to tuck some of Deena's curls behind her ear with a smirk on her face.

"There's that face again. What trouble are we getting in now?"

Sam kissed Deena as soon as she stopped speaking. She missed her too much all day and dreamed about how badly she wanted to kiss her all day.

She crawled into Deena's lap, a leg bent on both sides of Deena's waist. Sam deepened the kiss instantly. She longed for Deena so much all day she couldn't bare it to waste any time.

Deena's hands slipped under Sam's shirt that she was wearing, that was Deena's and it made Deena smile the moment she saw the shirt on Sam.

"Sam," Deena mumbled against Sam's lips, "what about your dad?"

Sam kissed Deena again, her hands going to the back of her neck to pull her closer.

"I don't care, he won't be home for hours anyways."
