Sam looked over at Deena driving, her eyes half closed.

"Deena, I love you....I wouldn't be here without you. Thank you. You're my heart....I love you so much, do you know that?" Sam whispered and reached out to hold Deena's hand which Deena gave to her right away.

Deena glanced over at Sam, worried as to why Sam was speaking like that while she looked so tired and fragile.

"Yes, I love you too. Sam everything's going to be fine."

"Maybe." Sam said and closed her eyes.

"It will be," Deena pulled up to the hospital and parked.

"Sam, you have to wake up." Deena helped an exhausted Sam out of the car. They both wrapped an arm around the others waist.

Deena guided them inside and to an ER room that a nurse was leading them to. As they walked, Sam was leaning on Deena more and more.

She told the nurse everything about Sam and what happened tonight.

Sam was so tired of hospitals. All they made her think of was pain and getting sick. She spent months in the hospital and she couldn't do it again.

Sam laid back in the bed, looking at Deena who was holding her hand.

"I wish I kissed you sooner. Way before I got cancer. You make me strong." Sam spoke, pulling Deena closer to sit on the edge of her bed.

"Sam, everything's going to be okay. Why are you talking like that?" Deena held the side of Sam's face with her free hand.

"Just. I-I feel that way."

Deena stared at Sam, studying her for a moment. "You'll be okay. You'll be strong again and we will be in college soon."

"Come here," Sam whispered and tugged on Deena's shirt to get her close enough that she could kiss her.

Deena kissed her, resting her forehead on Sam's. "You'll be strong again soon. I know it. I won't stop until you are."

The way that Sam was acting and talking scared Deena. She pulled back from Sam the moment she heard the doctor walk in.

As the doctor spoke about tests they were going to do, Sam started coughing. The moment she did, Deena was terrified. Sam couldn't catch any cold or flu or she would be even more sick.

Deena remembered how close Taylor was the Sam when she walked in and instantly blamed her for giving Sam some cold or cough. She was thankful that Taylor got to Sam before she could pass out on the sidewalk, but now she was even more angry with her.

A nurse brought in a glass of water for Sam, which Deena took from the nurse's hands and lifted it to Sam's mouth herself.

She was furious at Sam's dad for allowing her mom there. It was the completely wrong time to bring her mom anywhere near Sam.

He broke the promise he made to Deena and it was so important to her, she understood now why Sam got so hurt when Deena broke her promise too.

Deena watched as Sam got taken for a CT scan and bloodwork. All she could do now is wait again. All she's ever done in this hospital was wait for Sam to be okay again.

After waiting awhile for Sam to come back to ask her if she wanted to call her dad, Deena got up and did it anyways.

"It's Deena, Sams in the ER. I'm with her now, she's getting some tests done. She nearly passed out walking from your house to mine." Then Deena hung up the phone before he could answer her.

She was angry that he could treat Sam so carelessly now, when she needed them most since she's weak again.
