"Prom tickets here! This weekend only!" Simon yelled from a table at the front of the cafeteria.

Sam and Deena looked at each other after he yelled.

"Oh come on you two. You're holding hands in the hallways. You're in love and everyone knows it." Simon said as he came up behind them and held on to each other their shoulders.

"It would be magical, give Shadyside their first gay couple at prom." Kate had a huge smile on her face as she tried to convince Sam and Deena to go to prom. "I'll kick every inbred asshole's ass if they tried anything, you know it."

Sam had a beaming smile at Deena, she was sold, but she wasn't sure if Deena would want to.

"Are you sure, Sam? To go together?" Deena asked, facing Sam. She never thought she would go to prom so she didn't give it much thought before. But if Sam wanted to, she would go without hesitation.

Sam nodded, "yes, it's our last year and I want to have a real prom, going with the person I am in love with and dancing with her in front of everyone. I don't care what anyone says. I want to do it if you do."

"Yes, I'll go with you, I never wanted to do prom, but now I do since it's with you." Deena returned the wide smile on her face that Sam had.

Sam didn't care if any eyes were on them, she leaned in and kissed Deena there for the first time in public.

"Yay! My lesbo friends, I already bought you tickets. I knew I could win you over," Simon hugged both of them at once and handed Deena the tickets.

Kate insisted to take both of them prom shopping separately so that it would be a surprise to the other what they were wearing.

"I remember when Sam got her first boyfriend and how much you hated him. You literally put dirt in his food once at lunch." Kate laughed as she looked through the dresses with Deena.

"He deserved it. I never talked to him before but he definitely deserved it." Deena joked back as she thought about the memory.

"And now you're dating Sam and going to prom with her. I just wanted to say that I told you so, back then when you looked so love sick over Sam every time she talked to a guy. Now she can't keep her hands off you, even in public." Kate bumped Deena's shoulder.

Deena smiled as she thought about what Kate had said. She felt like she was dreaming everyday since Sam first kissed her.

"I love Sam," Deena started talking and then Kate cut her off.

"Yes, God we know Deena." Kate rolled her eyes.

"I love Sam but I don't know about wearing any of these dresses. Nothing feels right about any of them." Deena sighed as she stopped looking through the dresses.

Kate stopped too, looking around the store and found exactly what Deena was meant to wear to prom.

Kate held up a pink suit to Deena, "you have to try it on. It's perfect for you. And Sam's favorite color is pink so don't complain about the pink." Kate gave the suit to Deena and practically pushed her into the fitting room.

Deena groaned, it's been awhile since she went clothes shopping and it gave her a headache to look through those prom dresses. Her mom used to drag her with her all the time, so she hasn't wanted to really since she lost her mom.

She put on the suit and closed her eyes as she stood in front of the mirror. She sighed and opened her eyes, her jaw dropped some at how she actually liked the suit.

"Come on, D! I still have to take Sam shopping later." Kate said from outside the fitting rooms.

Deena walked out the room to Kate, her cheeks were turning a shade of pink as she did.

"Holy shit, this is perfect! Sam is going to die. You look amazing." Kate clapped her hands together, a huge smile on her lips.
