Deena paced around her room, waiting for her phone to ring.
She knew the conversation with Sam and her mom wasn't going to be good. She knew Sam was going to be upset, but her dad promised Deena that he would protect Sam.
She planned to go back to Sam's house the minute she called once it was over.
Deena sighed as she laid down in bed. Sam needed to get better so they can go to college and have an apartment together.
She was excited to have an apartment with Sam. She was grateful to Sam's dad for doing that, although he was trying to make up for all the damage he did to Sam for being a terrible dad to her.
She was excited to be with Sam in their home they built together. It made Deena smile as she dreamed about it and laid in bed.
Deena jumped out of bed at the first ring of the phone. "Sam?"
"No, I mean yes. But technically it's Taylor. Sam gave me your number. She was walking on the sidewalk in front of my house and she was about to pass out. So she's in my house and passed out on the couch. She asked me to call you. She's dizzy and weak, because of her blood count," Taylor said.
"Where do you live? Tell her I'll be right there."
Taylor gave Deena her address. She was nervous to call Deena and see her but she knew Sam needed her.
She went in sat on the edge of the couch Sam was laying on. "She will be here soon."
Sam had her eyes closed, half asleep, but nodded.
Taylor reached out to Sam's face, slowly brushing back hair from Sam's face. She kept her hand there for a moment, running her thumb over Sam's cheek.
"Sam?" Taylor jumped and stood when she heard Deena behind her.
"Yeah, s-shes half asleep.." Taylor's cheeks were flushed from Deena catching her reach out to Sam's face.
"Sam, I'm here." Deena said as she went to Sam and helped her sit up. She was too worried about Sam to deal with Taylor touching Sam's face like that.
Sam woke up more at the sound of Deena's voice.
"It didn't go well, Deena....My mom said I needed help." Sam said as she wrapped an arm around Deena's waist.
"We will deal with that later. We need to take care of you first."
Taylor went to help Deena with Sam but Deena stopped her, "it's fine I got her." Deena shrugged Taylor's arm off of Sam and her.
"Thank you, Taylor." Sam said before they made it out the door.
"Of course, Sam. Anything for you."
That comment made Deena glare at Taylor. If it wouldn't upset Sam in the moment, she would go after Taylor right now.
Sam laid back in her seat once Deena got Sam in a got her in the car.
"Sam I have to take you to the hospital. You're scaring me too much not to." Deena said, she knew Sam didn't want to go but she had to.
"No Deena, please. Let's just go lay down in your bed." Sam tried.
"I'm sorry, but we have to go. We can do that after the hospital."
Sam nodded, she was too tired to fight Deena on it.
