"Thank you, Nurse Beddy. You have no idea how important this was for me." Deena said as she handed the scrubs back to Beddy.

"I can't do that again. It was too close. They all asked me about you the second we walked through the ICU. But she will get better, I'm sure."

Deena nodded and headed out the employee entrance to meet Simon and Kate at her car.

The look on Sam's face as Deena was pulled out of the room kept replaying in her mind. It hurt Deena to think about how soft and fragile Sam's voice was when she begged Deena to stay.

"What did she say?" Kate asked when Deena joined them in the car.

"She said that she believed me and that she's been thinking about it ever since and realized Taylor is fucking with us. Before I could even play the recording so I didn't play it. She was sorry and she's been sick and asleep almost the whole time the past few days... at first she couldn't believe it was me. She asked if this was real and if it was me." Deena sighed and turned the car on.

"Then she asked me to stay....She was crying so hard when Beddy pulled me out of the room as the doctors went in. She looked just as sick and weak as the doctors said she would be..I can't get her face out of my mind when she asked me to stay. She looked so broken after everything."

Kate put her hand on Deena's shoulder. "That's great that she believed you. And she's going to get better, D. She beat cancer. She can do this. It's going to be difficult for her and you but she will be okay."

Deena nodded and drove them back to her house in silence, her conversation with Sam kept replying in Deena's mind.

"This recording can still be used to fuck with Taylor and prove how she lied and manipulated Riley." Simon explained as they got out of Deena's car at her house.

"Yeah, she deserves something. But can we do it tomorrow? I am so tired." Deena asked then yawned. She wanted to call Sam and see how she was doing after Deena left.

"Yeah, I get that. Will you be at school tomorrow?" Kate asked.

"No, I want to be here all day for when Sam calls. And I don't want to deal with Riley and Taylor tomorrow."

"Call us tomorrow then, okay?" Simon asked as he went in and hugged Deena.

"I will. Now get off me, we are done with hugs for awhile." Deena groaned as she broke free of Simon.

Deena went inside once Simon and Kate left.

She felt drained physically and mentally from today. But holding Sam and making sure she didn't lose her made it all worth it.

Deena called Sam's hospital room as soon as she got in her room.

"Hello?"

Deena was surprised to hear another voice on the phone that wasn't Sam's.

"Is Sam there? Is she okay?" She was instantly worried the moment she realized it wasn't Sam on the other side of the phone.

"Yes she's okay. This is her doctor. A medicine she's on will make her sleep for awhile. Just so you know if she doesn't answer. Is this Deena?"

"Y-Yeah, it is." She was confused how the doctor knew her name and was asking for her.

"Samantha's been asking for you for the last few days. Throughout the day. A side effect of the medicine can make her drowsy and somewhat confused sometimes. But she asked me to tell you that she loves you a lot and wants to marry you. And something about a blue house."

Deena smiled as the doctor spoke about Sam talking about her.

"If she doesn't answer your call for a day, she will probably be asleep the whole time and won't hear it. If that happens, just call the hospital and ask for me. I'm Dr. Holly Miller. And I'll update you, I know Samantha would want that."

"That would be great. I would appreciate that, thank you doctor." Deena felt lucky that Sam had her as a doctor.

"Bye Deena, talk to you soon." Then the doctor hung up.

Deena put the stereo the recording was on back on the desk so she would keep if they try to show Taylor they have prove now.

Deena felt like a weight lifted off her chest now that she saw Sam and held her for the first time in almost a week.  She didn't have an idea how much longer until she could hold Sam again, but she would wait years for Sam.
