jisung was right. hyunjin's bed was unnaturally comfortable. it was perfect, his body sinking right in.

hyunjin must've seen his blissed out expression, because with a little laugh he explained that he swapped out the original mattress for memory foam which he bought on his own.

jisung swore he would buy that mattress for himself.

that day was very carefree and comfortable, and for the rest of the passing days, it was like that too.

jisung continued his classes, sometimes either going out with hyunjin and other times with felix. he spent a lot of time watching kdramas, feeling the heavy weight of the issues that were previously in his mind lift.

he kept himself busy, doing his art assignments and sometimes going to the library.

it had been three weeks since the day it was revealed that minho was assigned as his roommate.

three weeks since the two of them had a proper conversation (or fight).

minho would occasionally pop into the dorm with his bag sometimes to swap his clothes, grab other things, or to drop things off for himself that he bought.

words were barely ever exchanged during those moments.

it truly was a hassle, and much more than minho ever thought he would've doing in his first year of college.

but to be fair, this is what he came up with to solve the issue of rooming together. jisung just happened to not have any better ideas, so it is what it is.

however this time when minho walked into the dorm, unlocking it without warning like he did every time he came back, something changed.

jisung was sitting on his bed when the ravenette busted in. he looked up from his bowl of ramen, his blonde hair being held by a little hair-tie at the top of his head as the dull sound of the drama he was watching filled his ears.

he blinked, slurping up the noddles as he watched minho shut the door behind him and head towards his bed.

minho placed his bag on the bed, unzipping it and taking a few of the things out. he took out folded shirts and put them away in his drawers, setting himself down on the floor and opening them up.

jisung watched with bored eyes, fighting the urge to yell at minho to pester him about knocking. but then his mind trailed off.

he looked over at the table.

there were some snacks he bought for himself in a plastic bag there- things he went out with felix to buy just a little bit earlier.

the australian questioned if he was buying too much, to which the blonde insisted he wasn't. but truth be told, the moment he put the bag down on the table he instantly agreed that he went overboard.

a thought instantly popped into jisung's head, and half of his mind hated it. he felt his knees threaten to lock him in place to prevent him from getting up and just turn his attention back to his show.

without getting a chance to tune back into the drama, he sighed and put aside his ramen on the nightstand before getting up, sliding on his slippers in the process.

he went over to the table, pulling open the plastic bag and grabbing something out from it. out he took a small bag of chocolates that were shaped like little mushrooms with the biscuit end.

he looked at them for a moment before ultimately turning around and walking over to minho, who was still putting his stuff away.

without saying anything, jisung stood in front of him with the bag extended towards the older.

the sound the of the bag resulted in minho looking up in question, confusion diluting in his eyes the moment he saw jisung holding it out for him. he stared. for a couple seconds that ended up being longer than what was considered normal.

"take it." jisung's arm got tired, his eyes attempting to scan the ravenettes eyes in an attempt to read him. to see a sign of anything. to pick out any wave of something other than darkness.

he never gets offered things.

minho blinked, eyebrows contorting together to express his furthering confusion. "what?"

"just take it, god." jisung didn't wait any longer before tossing it, the bag falling in minho's lap with a loud crinkle as he turned away to get back to his bed. "i had extra."

there was a line of silence that made regret begin to float in the air, making it harder to ignore as jisung tried to sit back in front of his show.

"and you decided to give it to me?" a slight snort left minho's nose. the scoff was enough to make jisung look back at him.

he was making fun of his gesture.

"why? you don't want it then?" he questioned, extending out his hand. "give it back."

minho didn't seem to be swayed by this, opening the packet and taking one of the chocolate mushrooms out with a shrug. "nah, it's mine now."

jisung squinted at him before finally getting back to his ramen.

he didn't see the same look he managed to only catch when felix had offered minho something. there wasn't any.. fire exactly. but nothing like what he saw with felix.

jisung was starting to believe he imagined the look in minho's eyes completely.

now tuned in back to the show, minho was also captivated by the drama jisung was watching. he sat crossed-legged and observed the tv as he ate the snack provided.

there was quiet. it wasn't tense, and the only thing that could be heard was the dull sound of the tv.

it went on like this for a little while until jisung opened his mouth.

"do you like prefer being alone?"

the question left his mouth before he could think on it. he glanced over at minho, who hadn't given an outward reaction to his question. instead he chewed like nothing.

"why do you care?" his eyes hadn't moved from the television.

jisung shrugged. "it's not like i care. but i'm just curious." he looked back at the show as well. "wanted to know what goes on in that messed up head of yours."

minho shot a short glare before chewing back on the chocolate. "do you like being alone?"

a question answered with another question.

jisung sat and thought. no, in fact he hated it. he couldn't stand it for even a week. he always hated being alone ever since he was a kid.

he would get antsy and unsettled. it was uncomfortable. it was isolating, especially after going through what he had no choice but to go through when he was younger.

that was his answer to the question.

jisung put down his bowl again, arms coming to rest in his lap as his eyes fell back onto minho in silence. and minho didn't notice the sudden different look he was receiving.

he was far too busy watching the show to notice.
