had it been anything else in the entire world, jisung would've been able to do it.

had it been a singing competition, rapping competition- hell, even a dance competition! he could've at least faked it til he made it.

it would've been so much easier to do anything else- but a love competition?

he completely lacked any knowledge or confidence to take part in something like this.

jisung didn't know what this competition entailed when he blindly agreed to it, but he thought it would've been along the lines of "ask your partner questions and see if you know the answer to it!" or something.

jisung wasn't built for things like this. he wasn't ever properly experienced with close proximity to ANYBODY, let alone someone he barely managed to tolerate on a normal day.

but this wasn't a normal day, and here he stood with his bottom lip tingling and a headache beginning to form.

"the next challenge will be the newspaper challenge." she said into the mic.

jisung tugged on minho's hand, tapping his arm frantically and whispering to him. "what's the newspaper challenge?" he asked.

the ravenette sighed and tried to think. "my guess would be the game where you have to stand on the newspaper and stay on it every time it gets smaller."

jisung blinked. "oh. well that isn't bad at all."

"one of us is gonna have to be carried by the other." he clarified.

jisung deflated against the older's arm. "we're gonna lose." he mumbled, not even wanting to embarrass himself by trying.

"with that attitude we definitely will." minho jutted his shoulder upwards to uncomfortably clash with jisung's cheek, but the younger didn't get off. "where was the determination from before, huh?"

jisung grumbled, nearly clawing his face off. "it's different now that i'm actually doing it." he complained, feeling his neck get warm again.

"apparently i don't do good with physical things. in front of a crowd. when money is in the picture."

"never become a stripper."

jisung slapped his arm hard with his free hand, scowling before watching them set up the newspaper game.

minho sighed. "listen, this is just for the prize. nothing else, alright? it's not like you're in a competition to find a lover or something, so you can relax. it's for the money. easy money, remember?"

minho had a point. this wasn't nearly as serious as jisung was making it out to be. if anything he had been overeating.

"okay, yeah." jisung nods, a new wave of determination washing over him this time. "you're right."

"always am."

the newspapers were set up. the rules were pretty simple. don't touch the ground with your foot and balance on the paper the best you can with your partner on your back.

while holding hands.

jisung looked down at their shoes, tilting his head after considering something. "i have smaller feet." he said. "i should be the one carrying you then, right?"

however the suggestion had minho scoffing and shaking his head. "no. you wouldn't be able to hold me long enough." he said, being brutally honest. "i have to carry you."

jisung scrunched his face. "hey! that's not true. i could hold you." he fought, however the pinch of his fingers between minho's grip had him wincing.

"can you behave?" he said, as if talking to some annoyingly misbehaved child.
