jisung pretends it never happened.

the next day was going to come and go like normal regardless if it happened or not.

so he pretends it never happened.

even the next day when minho looks at him with his typical stoic expression like he always did. jisung couldn't suspect him knowing that something happened.

they all were sat at hyunjin's table eating breakfast.

hyunjin was talking up a storm, mostly gossip and random things as he ate with one hand and scrolled through tiktok with the other. more natural filler talk more than anything.

minho was making work on a bowl of cereal, most of it getting soggy from his eyes not leaving the blonde across from him.

jisung was trying to get through his own bowl of cereal, not thinking of anything specific as he tried to focus his ears on the chatter coming from his left.

his fingers had been stinging since he woke up, sore and red. his left hand was hidden on his lap because he was more than positive he drew blood last night.

he pretends his fingers aren't in pain.

"i think seungmin is planning on visiting more. him and jeongin have been complaining about how boring things have been for them. well, felix too but that's expected because everyone's just been so busy." hyunjin speaks, simultaneously sending a tiktok over to chan about being the parent of the group.

"and changbin has been talking to me more, says he's also bored out of his mind. how about we plan a trip or something? when the weather gets better."

jisung does actually process that part, and he swallows his cereal and smiles a little. "that sounds nice." he agrees.

it would be nice to get away for a while. that would be good.

"maybe during break." he says, and hyunjin brightens at the idea.

"that would be perfect! i'll text felix about it today, since he's like, the god of planning shit." hyunjin concludes, finishing his bowl of cereal and standing up to put it in the sink.

"i'm gonna go change and do my morning routine, be right back." he declares with a long stretch of his body and the pop of his back. he hums and walks off. "i slept so good last night~" his voice trails off as he exits.

it was just the two of them now, jisung leaning his head on one hand as he shoveled another spoonful of cereal in his mouth.

minho looks at him like he always does, and jisung doesn't suspect a thing when the older opens his mouth.

"what's wrong?"

jisung feels himself stop chewing and the hand swishing the bits of cereal in the bowl stop moving. he looks up at minho and smiles a little.

"nothing." he says all too easily. "my back just still hurts." he explains before shifting in his chair to prove a point. it did, but so did a lot of things right now.

minho tilts his head.

his expression isn't readable but there's only certain occasions when that's not the case. his eyes were soft and not flat in the slightest.

"are you sure?" the question wasn't accusatory, more like an open invitation to let him know that he's right there.

and god, he's right there.

jisung feels the anxiety deep inside him dwindle and get replaced with something else. he smiles again, this time real.

suddenly it's not as bad as it was last night.
