when jisung walked in, minho looked up from what he was doing on his desk to see his roommate humming and closing the door with an odd spin.
despite the weirdness of jisung, minho spun around in his chair and loosely pointed his pen in his direction before speaking.
"so about your issue, i actually thought of-"
"guess what?" jisung interrupted, grinning ear to ear while holding up a little plastic bag as he kicked his shoes off to the side happily.
"guess what the fuck i did. I BOUGHT HIM SOMETHING." he declared, bouncing with excitement and voice laced faintly with pettiness.
"and i didn't need any of your fucking help! HA. i did it all by myself. turns out i didn't even need your soggy advice. i wasted time even asking you." he tossed his items on his bed and spun. "I FUCKING DID IT."
minho shut his mouth, blankly staring at his roommate who was dancing around their dorm.
jisung spun again and flopped down on his bed with a happy giggle. "anyway, what were you gonna say?" he sat up, eyes still bright with this weight taken off his shoulders.
minho simply shook his head. "never mind." he rolled his eyes, turning back to his desk and writing something down on an assignment.
"you're not even gonna ask me what i found?" jisung grabbed the plastic bag, bringing it to his lap to take some of the items out and placing it next to him.
"no. i really don't care." the older shrugged, pressing play on his music he had paused when he heard the door knob jiggle.
jisung gasped in faux hurt. "wow, how rude." he balled up the plastic bag to put under their sink in the cabinet later. "i'll show you anyway. okay so i got-"
"don't care." he reminded, pressing his music louder in his earbuds to drown out the continuous noise pouring from jisung's mouth.
jisung had no issue talking to an unresponsive person. but today he felt the need to pry.
he moved in closer, taking one of the earbuds between his fingers and yanking it out of minho's ears in a single motion.
the disruption of music was certainly unappreciated and honestly, quite unacceptable.
minho looked up at him, eyes dark and sour as they typically were whenever he was looking at jisung.
"what's got you in such a grouchy mood?" jisung questioned, head tilting and eyebrows furrowing. "did someone reject you or something?"
minho was debating jabbing the pen he was writing with inside of jisung's eye socket, but not wanting to go to jail, he settled on putting the pen down.
"you talking from experience?"
jisung's jaw fell. "wow you're so bitter, you know that?" jisung moved over to sit against the edge of minho's desk.
he grumpily stared at minho's face as he continued to work on his assignments. "you know what you need to do?"
minho deeply sighed and went to go plug his earbuds back in but jisung snatched it and put it down again.
"what. what do i need to do, jisung?"
jisung placed the earbuds off to the side of the desk. "i think you need to smile."
the statement was serious and it had minho with a dead expression.
"a genuine smile, not a fake one. you know, give a little laugh. maybe watch a funny movie or something. you barely ever express joy."
