the next day, jisung found his eyes stuck on minho before class started.

he couldn't explain why, but he was scanning his features like a hawk. he was attempting to see if he could spot an ounce of softness like he did yesterday. even just a slither of emotion. anything.

he didn't know why his mind craved to clarify what he saw. or what he thought he saw.

however the older was simply sat there, scanning through his phone with a bored face like he did everyday. his face rested in its natural harshness, his eyes holding the same rested shine to them.

it was weird to be looking for something. but jisung couldn't get it out of his head.

he looked around at the people surrounding minho. everyone, nearly everyone, was talking with a friend or were huddled in groups to interact.

people were on their phones, showing each other messages and videos- laughing and smiling at each other.

the chatter devoured the room, yet there the sly, vicious, smug boy was; sitting by himself with his earbuds in.

like he had done everyday.

alone.

it was hard to notice that he was sectioned off from the boom of socialization in the room on a normal day, but now that it was being sought after, it was extremely noticeable.

maybe even pitiful.

the way his features rested gave away that he didn't seem bothered by it, and he didn't look up at others longingly with want or jealousy. he was just in his own bubble.

his own, quiet, sectioned bubble.

jisung let go of a frustrated sigh, slumping back into his chair as he turned his eyes back to the front of the room after he realized he shouldn't be trying to find anything to begin with.

"why you staring so hard?" hyunjin's voice suddenly came from no where, his head popping up from over jisung's shoulder.

the blonde lightly whacked him, "do not say that." he murmured, voice a little quiet.

the brunette sat down next to jisung, tilting his head at the response. "but.. isn't that what you were just doing?" he questioned, smiling a little when jisung leaned against him suddenly.

"i was just trying to see something." he murmured, closing his eyes because it was still far too early for his eyes to be comfortable in its sockets. "yesterday i think i saw something and was just trying to see it again." he added.

hyunjin looked over to where jisung had just been staring intensely at, eyes landing the only person in that direction. "and it had something to do with minho..?" he turned his head back to jisung, who was still resting on the others shoulder.

the blonde gave a nod, which completely caught hyunjin off guard.

"wow. did you two fight yesterday or something?"

"we always fight."

hyunjin snorted. "true. but did you?"

they always fight, but that's not what was swirling around in jisung's mind. that held no explanation for the weird feeling he got from realizing that minho was sitting by himself.

he didn't get it. he didn't know why he noticed it this time, nor why he should even give a fuck if he was sitting by himself.

he deserved it. he did it to himself.

besides, jisung already knew that minho was like this. he knew that he had a cold aura which stirred people away. he knew that minho has a terrible temper, which was a sole purpose of his seclusion.

he would yell and snap. he would snicker as a warning sign that he was pissed off. his eyes were dark and borderline soulless.

and that's why jisung would say it.

that's why when every time his mother was brought up, jisung would shoot back with the insult of minho always being alone by himself.

that's exactly why.

jisung leaned back up and opened his eyes, giving another look over before shaking his head and turning around in his seat. "anyway, hyunjin!" he smiled. "how are you?"

the sudden question was clearly utilized to advert the focus from the topic at hand, but hyunjin still allowed it. he pulled the chair next to jisung and smiled back. "i'm good! and you?"

"very sleepy." jisung honestly said, rubbing the eye that was still struggling not to feel dry with tiredness.

"come over my place and we can take naps and watch movies." hyunjin enthusiastically grabbed jisung's hand, swinging it and then holding it close with hopeful eyes. "what do ya say?"

jisung giggled, nodding at the idea. "sure! sounds nice!"

to put it short, jisung's initial mission was failed and useless. he recognized that.

but he was now so excited to sleep in hyunjin's probably cozy bed and watch a movie.

to be honest, the movie part was irrelevant. he was bound to fall asleep the moment his head hit a pillow anyway.
