as ms. jang began her lecture, jisung was stiffly sitting in his seat.

not because he was in any kind of pain or whatever, but because minho looked on the brink of murdering someone.

he looked so sleep deprived beyond belief, the bags under his eyes not getting any better as he slumped over.

his eyebrows seemed to be permanently fixed in agitation, as he barely even listened to the lecture correctly. every time his eyes were twitching to close, he had to drag them back open and focus.

he looked like he was snapping.

"you look terrible.." jisung whispered, leaning only slightly closer so he could be heard. "what were you even doing last night?" he questioned.

"trying to fuckin' sleep." minho grumbled in response.

his head leaned onto his hand as he blinked rapidly.

ms. jang was going over notes and minho really didn't feel like missing them. he knew that if he didn't stay awake he would be behind, and that alone annoyed him.

but he just couldn't keep his eyes open. and jisung saw that.

he glanced over a few times when he noticed that minho's body began to relax, and his head slumped further into his hand.

so noting this, jisung hesitantly got his phone out. he gave a final look to see minho's eyes were no longer fighting to stay open, and that he officially started dozing off.

ms. jang had gone to the next slide, explaining some properties of artistic values with some picture examples.

jisung, with his good hand, angled his phone and took a picture of it silently.

he kept doing this at every point the slide changed, paying attention best he could because he wasn't able to write down the notes himself. he usually was able to remember them without writing anything down anyway.

"okay guys, that's all for this lecture." ms. jang sighed and gave a smile. she turned off the projector and pointed to a basket on the table. "now. i have cookies here if anybody wants to grab."

with that single sentence, students went running.

jisung relaxed in his seat though, clicking through the images of the slides he gathered.

"what's up with grumpy pants?" hyunjin slithered over, moving next to jisung and taking a seat for himself.

jisung snickered at the nickname, but shrugged, looking over the older who was well passed out by now.

"he didn't sleep i guess." he said.

hyunjin made a face, shuddering and moving away from minho even though he wasn't close to him to begin with. "being near tired minho is a dangerous game." he muttered, holding himself as if having war flashbacks.

jisung raised an eyebrow. "why?" he went through his pictures mindlessly.

"because." hyunin spoke intensely. "it's either he's murderous or cute. and it's rarely the latter." he explained.

jisung lightly scoffed a little, shutting off his phone and crossing his arms tp pay attention to hyunjin. "have you ever seen that though?" he questioned, genuinely curious.

the brunette smiled. it was a dumb smile. "only once." he hoisted up a single finger. "and it was on his birthday, of all days."

sensing a story arising, jisung moved his chair so that he was directly facing hyunjin as he went on.

"i'm not sure why he was so tired. probably because he was up thinking about his birthday and how much he hates it, but regardless he didn't sleep well the night prior." he went on.

"at first he was in a terrible mood, but then i forced him to come with me to buy a cupcake for him, and we ran into a stray kitten. when i tell you, there must've been a switch that flipped in him, i mean it." hyunjin clasped his hands together excitedly.

"he suddenly was all bubbly and deliriously happy talking to the kitten, i almost recorded it i swear. and he went on and on, saying stuff like 'you're so cute' and 'hello baby' in a tiny voice. he was in a good mood after that."

jisung hummed after giving a nod. he looked at the back of the older, eyeing the perfectly placed wrinkles of his hoodie.

"well i have to wake him up." he said, catching the way hyunjin snickered.

"if you wanna die go ahead." he leaned back. "who knows how angry he'll be."

"he'll get over it." jisung moved closer, suddenly touching minho's back and giving a little push.

after earning no response, jisung did it harder. he shook his shoulder until he saw the very deadly eyes open and pierce him.

"unblock my number." jisung said, unfazed even though maybe he should be.

"what?" minho flatly mumbled, quite rudely too.

"unblock. my number." jisung tapped minho's phone, creating an annoying sound which had minho grabbing jisung's fingers.

"okay, relax." he tiredly said, bringing himself to sit up and unlocking his phone. his eyes were narrowed in an attempt to see, as he went to his blocked contacts.

he pressed on it, the only number he had blocked popping up as jisung's. he clicked on it (and hesitated to an unnoticeable level) before unblocking it.

"thanks." jisung said, sitting back fully in his chair before going on his phone to do something.

minho felt his eyes drooping again, drifting off until he hard his phone loudly ping.

he laid his head against the desk, face smushed against the flat surface as he unlocked his phone and looked at it sideways with an exhausted sigh.

it was from the unblocked number.

minho opened it. pictures flew up on his screen.

he looked over at jisung.

"they're the notes."

it looked like careful calculations were being made behind minho's eyes. they were squinted, trying to process the statement.

"what?" he ended up saying, and jisung had to stop himself from breaking into laughter right then and there.

"you missed the notes." he clarified, motioning to the front of the room. "you.. um fell asleep." he didn't know why he paused, but he looked off to the side.

"did i?" minho seemed genuinely confused. he looked at the time, spacing out again as he did the fast blinking thing he always did.

"yes.." jisung straightened his back, clearing his throat slightly. "but.. maybe i should've just let you deal with it yourself." he murmured.

however there was a snicker that came from minho, his head still leaning against the desk and a slight smile on his face. "you're interesting when you're flustered."

jisung's face went entirely red at the statement in a matter of seconds, his body taking a screenshot. "HUH?"

"you're trying to hide it. why are you flustered anyway?" minho allowed his eyes to close again, exhaling through his nose in a hum.

"i-i'm not flustered! my god- what are you on-?" jisung shouted, squirming in his seat.

"okay okay whatever, chill before you bend your arm or something." minho said, adjusting his position so that his chair was closer. he buried his head further in his arms.

"i'm never doing anything for you ever again." jisung murmured.

"guess you can carry your backpack by yourself then."

jisung was gonna beat him up even with one arm.
