if shock could be described using a single image, it would be what minho was looking at right now.

jisung stood there, color gone and his mouth broken apart for his shaky and uneven breaths which were far too quiet to even hear.

the woman walked in, smiling brightly and wrapping her arms around jisung, pulling him close even though he didn't hug her back.

minho blinked at this.

"i've brought you some treats! here, i'll go ahead and put them down here." she helped herself inside and shut the door, going into her bag after letting go of the frozen boy and taking out a tin of cookies.

she smiled and placed them down on the table before turning to her son and pulling him back into another hug, this time making jisung flinch and nearly stumble.

"..what..-" jisung finally began to speak, his hands tightly at his sides within his mother's arms. "what are you doing here?"

minho knew this was odd. he knew that the way jisung's eyes felt frozen and how he looked as if he wanted to crawl as far away as possible wasn't normal.

he couldn't tell if it was from shock or not.

the woman finally released jisung, making him stand unevenly as his eyes continue to be glued to her every single movement as if he needed to be aware of it.

"jisung, i haven't seen you in months." she spoke, hands coming down to fold in front of her. "since forever.. shouldn't i have visited?" her hand came out tenderly to swipe jisung's hair away from his face, however the blonde tensed up and took another step back.

the back of his knee bumped into the edge of his bed, resulting in a stumble which had him sitting down against the mattress. "why are you here?" it was a whisper, as he stared up at her.

minho could no longer see the woman's expression. he could only see the back of her head and her frame.

but he could very clearly see jisung.

there was a moment of pause, and her hand came up again to move jisung's hair away from his wide eyes in a soft motion again.

but this time her hand did touch him, because he really had no where to run right anymore.

she moved a piece of his long hair behind the tip of his ear. "i know you're shocked to see me." she said in what sounded like understanding. "but you're my son. and we need to talk."

he looked nauseous. he looked like he was going to black out or possibly die.

with her hand now brushing the side of his face, jisung looked behind her for a quick moment.

and for that split second, their eyes met.

it only made minho feel more uneasy. jisung's eyes were shaking, and the expression on his face was unreadable to the older.

jisung then tore his eyes away and swallowed down, hesitantly nodding even though it looked like he had to fight his body for it.

"okay..." he mustered. "we can talk.."

before minho knew what was happening, jisung was being brought back up to his feet with the hold of his mother's grip on his arm.

"perfect. it won't be long honey." she said, pulling jisung along behind her as she made it to the door.

minho opened his mouth to say something- but it was fruitless.

while moving forward, jisung met his eyes to minho's one last time before he was taken out of the dorm, the door shutting behind him.
