Tommy POV

"You should have known better than to run off."

Tommy whimpered as another foot struck him in the stomach. He cradled in on himself, desperate for any source of protection against the next attack. But it only seemed to encourage the man more as he struck Tommy again in the ribs.

"Did you really think we wouldn't find you?"

Another punch in the gut.

"Did you really think that pathetic friend of yours would protect you?"

Tommy's hand clutched into a fist. Spitting out blood, he glared at the man, "Don't call my brother pathetic." He managed to sit up for a moment before surrendering to the ground once more. If only he had the strength to stand up to the man. He would have taught him a lesson he would never forget.

The man laughed in his face, kicking him in the ribs extra hard. Tommy tried to stay quiet, not wanting him to give him the satisfaction. But another punch and he couldn't prevent the sob that escaped him. Everything ached with a pain he had never felt before. Tommy could only imagine how many bones he had broken.

"You still think he's your brother?" he chuckled, kneeling down beside the boy. "He left you behind, remember? When you needed him most he wasn't there." He paused, smirking, "What kind of brother does that?"

It's not true, Tommy thought to himself. Wilbur was still coming for him, he just needed to give him time. "He's never been one for being on time," the blonde chuckled, pressing his forehead into his arm.

The man laughed again, pulling Tommy up by the hair. The boy cried out, immediately doing everything in his power to make him let go. But the man only seemed to laugh harder. "You'll be sorry you ever even met him when I'm done with you."

Tommy sealed his eyes shut, preparing for another punch.

"Sir! We've captured an intruder!" another man ran in, panting.

He frowned, "Intruder?"

A body was being dragged towards them, but Tommy was in too much pain to even see clearly, let alone recognize him. The two men carrying him dumped him onto the floor. There was a cough before Tommy heard the words.

"Let him go."

Blue eyes nearly burst into tears upon seeing the brown ones. Wilbur slowly rose to his feet, glaring daggers at the man. The man smirked, dropping Tommy to the ground. "You must be the famous brother, Thomas has told me so much about." He paced towards the outer edge of the walls.

Tommy crumbled to the floor. He tried to climb to his feet, but the pain was too much to bear. Black specks began to dance across his vision. No, he thought, he needed to stay awake. He had to stay awake.

"His name is Tommy."

The man rolled his eyes. "Thomas was his given name. I should know, I was the one who named him."

Wilbur's eyes narrowed. "His name is Tommy."

The man shrugged before pointing to his guards. "Kill him," he spat.

Tommy's eyes widened as he watched the guards descend on his brother. They wouldn't hurt him, not if he could help it. The blonde began to crawl towards the brunette, ignoring the burning pain that filled his body. "Wil-" he reached out.

Wilbur got to his feet, running to the hurt boy. He was quick to pull him into his arms. "I'm so sorry Toms, for... for everything." he whispered.

The guards continued to come towards them, their swords drawn. But Wilbur hardly seemed to notice.
