"We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. The human race is filled with passion and medicine, law, business, engineering. These are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love. These are what we stay alive for."
--John Keating "Dead Poets Society"

"Lost them. How'd they get away from us?" the Doctor wondered when they ran into a dead end. It was physical impossible for them not to have hit the same impasse.

Rose snorted. "Surprised they didn't turn back and arrest you for reckless driving. Have you actually passed your test?"

"Of course not. He tried and failed. Though, I'm not complaining." Echo said with a happy grin adorning her features.

The Doctor, however, didn't hear them seeing as he was still thinking of the police. "Men in black? Vanishing police cars? This is Churchill's England, not Stalin's Russia." he commented as his mind raced with theories.

"Monsters that boy said." the blonde said just as thoughtfully. "Maybe we should go and ask the neighbors." Rose suggested.

The Time Lord smiled at her, "That's what I like about you. The domestic approach." he said, making his love giggle with amusement.

"Thank you." She then paused. "Hold on. Was that an insult?"

"Don't worry about it, Rosie. Off we go!" They then zoomed off in the direction they had just came from.

Following Echo's lead, they started their investigation back at Tommy's house. After pushing the doorbell, they were greeted by the unpleasant father. "Who are you, then?"

The Doctor immediately began to examine him so he could take the lead, considering the time period they were in. "Let's see, then. Judging by the look of you. Family man, nice house, decent wage."

"Fought in the war." Echo whispered, unable to keep her observation to herself.

"Therefore, we represent Queen and country." He then held up the psychic paper with his "credentials" in view. "Just doing a little check of Her forthcoming Majesty's subjects before the great day." He then pushed his way into their home. "Don't mind if we come in? Nah, didn't think you did. Thank you." After the trio walked inside and into the living room, they were greeted by the wife and son. "Not bad. Very nice. Very well kept. I'd like to congratulate you, Mrs...?" he continued with a friendly smile.

"Connolly." the delightful woman replied with an almost forced smile.

The reason of her timid nature, her husband, then stepped into the conversation. "Now then, Rita. I can handle this. This gentleman's a proper representative." He then turned back to the Doctor. "Don't mind the wife. She rattles on a bit." he informed condescendingly.

Not liking the way Mr. Connolly was acting, the Doctor then felt just as repelled as Echo. "Well, maybe she should rattle on a bit more. I'm not convinced you're doing your patriotic duty." He then gestured to the lack of bunting. "Nico flags. Why are they not flying?"

The human sir then jumped onto the chance to show his interest. "There we are, Rita. I told you. Get them up. Queen and country. Go on, do it now." he ordered without hesitation.

Rita nodded quickly and moved to get to work. Something that displeased Echo greatly. Her timidness being the key to her domestic abuse theory could only strengthen her dislike of the man in front of her. "I'm sorry." the mother quickly apologized, obviously on instinct.

The brunette dimension hopper stepped closer to Mr. Connolly. "Now, here is where we have an issue. You have two large, perfectly capable hands of your own. I'd recommend using them to do it yourself." she kindly, yet firmly spoke.
