Has things progressed, because of Diego's lawyer who kept extending the time, unfortunately she didn't have any more money to keep her current lawyer, we wanted 10,000 for trial and that was something Sandra did not have nor did her father, Sandra then lost her lawyer and didn't know what to do, then his lawyer kept extending things has her fathers health started to decline, Sandra couldn't understand why they couldn't just end it, there wasn't anything really to talk about, Sandra really wanted this divorce to just be done, however there was nothing to do about it.
By the weekend, her and her father sat down in the living room on one of his weekends with the girls to then talk about it.
"What are we going to do Sandra?"
"Dad, honestly I don't know."
"I don't have any more money to give you."
Sandra made a face to eye down.
Her father spent his whole inheritance on this from when her grandfather passed and it made Sandra feel like a piece of shit, she wanted the divorce to be over and hopefully go after Diego to pay for it given it was him and his lawyer who kept extending the dead line.
Her father moved forward to really eye.
"Why is this not over with again?"
"His lawyers father is in a bad condition and she is wanting to go to another state to see him, I understand that but why we can't end this now, we got the gal report, I've done everything she has wanted me to do, spent 500 out of pocket for those parenting classes even though the teacher didn't understand why I had to take them and wanted him to take even though he is suppose to be still hasn't, I'm at a lost here, but I don't have a lawyer to explain things to me. I don't know what to do Dad."
Her father signed.
"Sounds like he is just driving this out for either you to change your mind or until the money is gone, I don't really know "
"Yeah talked to your brother about this a bit and he said the same, even Brita, awisha have said that also, I don't know why he is fighting so hard, he works 60 plus hours a week, he wouldn't even be there to raise them, I know what he will do, given he is loving with his mother in a 4 bedroom 3 bath house, he will go to work and have her raise them, the girls have told me, when they are there he is fixing cars or not even there during the weekend, I just don't get it."
Her father shrugged.
"It's a game to him, I don't think it's about the girls, he also probably doesn't want to pay you child support."
"It's really ridiculous, I can work and take care of the girls at the same time, they need there parent to do that, like I have you help when you can but I'm the mother."
Her father nodded.
"Sandra, he wants control, over the children and over you, I saw how he was with you and how he was with them, always yelled, made them cry, then would leave. That is not parenting."
Sandra nodded.
"It's also something he told me, when his mother left him in Mexico and came up here, even though his bio dad tried to get him a lawyer to get him here legally, he didn't take it, barley talked to his father, he told me he wants his kids to know who he is, I'm not trying to take them away from him, I do believe in what the gal said, he needs anger management, he needs therapy and help."
"I know you tried to find him a therapist and find a family therapist for you, he wouldn't go "
Sandra nodded.
"He told me I'm the problem not him, he also said I would have to find a male Mexican therapist, he just wants someone on his side and someone to tell me I'm wrong. It's exhausting."
"Divorce usually is. But we need to think of something."
"I'm trying, been calling pro bono, that's a magical unicorn, no one wants to do it, I don't make enough from my job with payments."
Her father nodded
"Well I can help, I'll start to call around also."
"Thank you. I really wish it was simple like what your other three daughters are trying to tell me. That I just go to court to end this, however I don't have the time, money to do so also there is a lawyer involved, she is just pure evil and a bitch, I don't know why she hates me so much and can't seem to read."
"She's just doing her job."
"Yeah, and I'm still surprised on how she has been still able to do it. We barely had money when we were together and now he has a house, a new car, a lawyer and can take the girls out to expensive places, this logically doesn't make sense to me."
"He did have his own back account, sure he was stashing away money also his family is probably helping him."
Sandra nodded.
"Yeah there were times if he needed money he would go to his mom and she would come out with large amounts of cash from her room, one time I saw her give him 3,000, which I don't know where that came from given she doesn't work, only the step dad."
"I don't know either. Yeah, it all doesn't make sense either, they could be hoarding there cash, but Sandra we need to think about what is next, I'm going to my room to start calling, you should keep doing that too"
Sandra moved to watch her father leave to then place her arms to her legs to place her hands to her head to start to cry.
She felt like the worlds worst daughter, her father used all his money to help her, gave ger a car, this is not what she wanted her father to have done, he is retired, he didn't deserve to worry over her like this, Sandra couldn't help to then start to cry harder, she hated herself so much, she also didn't know things were going to get a whole lot worse.
