Has the month of February went, Diego never tried to talk to the girls but tried to talk to Sandra through her father's phone, mostly trying to ask about his cars, unfortunately given the retraining order Sandra could not legally talk to him back, Sandra did tell her father to let Diego know he could talk to the girls but he would ignore and not to talk, Sandra then came to find out her sister Aisha had gone to his mothers house to find there was still a u haul truck and Sandra started to get a gut feeling something was off, Sandra however couldn't really think about these things has she needed to be there for her daughter's and her father has his health was all over the place to also still be trying to find a job.
By the end of the month Sandra found out Diego did get a lawyer, a female one who was not at all nice at all, Sandra had to have an video call with her at her lawyers office with her sister who came with given Sandra was scared about what was going to happen.
Sandra through that video call was shaking and hard, her heart couldn't stop thumping, she knew Diego was mad at her and from what she barely read what Diego had to say through her sister who read it a bit, he had written almost 60 pages to just be lying about her and how there marriage went and Sandra was being this horrible person and lying and kept the girls away from him, Sandra was shocked and appalled at what she heard, by the end of it the judge awarded Sandra the children with full custody, he had to take a drug test given he smoked a lot of pot, they both needed to talk with a gal about things, Diego needed to come and get his things from her garage, and he was able to see the girls every other weekend for a certain length of time.
Sandra wasn't happy with Diego seeing the girls at all has from what she heard he was under some pretty hard delusions and she was scared what he was going to do with the girls and what he would say, however Sandra couldn't do a thing about it, she did tell her later after one thing she was worried about he would steal the girls and take them to Mexico has he had told Sandra at times he would do that given he had a apartment down there, the lawyer wrote that down to then give Sandra a list of things she should do before they met back with that judge.
Sandra nodded to take that and something else, for her and her sister go to the parking lot for her sister to tell Sandra everything Diego had said which was bullshit, he said Sandra was a horrible house wife, that she didn't do anything but spent his money, kept Emily out of school even though they both agreed for her to wait given covid, that was one thing Sandra needed to place her in, same with placing Emily in therapy for this divorce, she also needed to find a job which Sandra was already looking and her sister helped her apply for a driving app so she could make some money.
The things Sandra had to do was not much and also go through a parenting class, but the things her sister was saying that Diego had said against Sandra was just over the top not true, he basically saying that Sandra was a horrible mother, person, was ruining her daughter's life and she shouldn't have custody of them at all, Sandra couldn't understand why Diego had said those things and lied like that. Sandra was seeing the real true colors of Diego and she was happy she filed for the divorce. Diego only cared about himself and was so full of himself and a pathological liar.
After hearing that crap, Sandra then went home to her father watching the girls to smile for him to ask her how it went after the girls had gone upstairs to play for Sandra to be downstairs with her father to the kitchen to eye.
"He is nothing but a fucking liar, he said I'm a bad mother, shouldn't have the girls, he said you smoke cigarettes in front of them and pot, he worries over them because of that, he even said things like he stopped smoking pot before Emily was born."
Sandra's father shook his head..
"That is a lie, he would be in his bathroom every day smoking pot for two hours while you were down stairs to take care of the girls and making dinner and cleaning, I also do not smoke in front of those girls."
"I know right, he is just lying! Oooh, I also found out he moved to a duplex or something with his family, we were struggling every pay check, we didn't even have money for food, how in the fuck did he do that! I also know his family is poor I'm so confused."
"Sandra, you did talk about where his mother lived and so you placed him in a corner, sure he moved because of that."
Sandra signed.
"Still confusing me."
Sandra's father looked to get with a face to then turn to go to the couch.
"Told you, divorces get dirty."
"I know that but I thought he wouldnt actually lie like this."
Sandra saw her father shrug for her to then get to dinner to be really mad at her ex, she couldn't believe his lies, later in the day Sandra asked her sister Aisha to come so they could take Emily upstairs has she was older to tell her the reality of things, they started off soft for Sandra to tell her the truth, Emily looked to her.
"What's a divorce?"
"Well, I'll be living here, your father will be living with Abu, you and your sister will see him every other weekend for now, I'll try to make sure you get to see him more."
Emily then made a face.
"I don't want to see him more. I want to be with you."
Sandra made a soft face.
"Yes you will be, but you will see him also."
Emily made a sad face for Aisha to go gently with this.
"Emily, know your parents might life apart but that still love you and your sister."
Sandra watched Emily hug her sister to move back for them to smile at the other.
"Emily, do you have any other questions?"
Emily looked to Sandra.
"I just want you to be safe from daddy."
Sandra's eyes widened to watch Emily get up to leave for Aisha to then look to Sandra who was trying to fight against the tears, for her to eye down for Aisha to go to her to place a hand to her back.
"This divorce was the best thing for your girls, you have a divine right to protect yourself and the lives of your off spring, now have a minute to yourself and I'll take care of my nieces."
Sandra nodded and once Aisha left she let the tears to fall to know she made the right decision here to not know it was going to get worse. So much worse.
