I followed Levi through the alleyways of the city. I still had the pain in my head. I noticed Levi looking back at me.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Levi asked, stopping to face me.
"It's nothing Sir." I answered, looking away.
"It sure doesn't look like nothing. Answer me honestly." Levi sounded less patient.
"It's just a headache and seeing Hange that upset." I replied, looking down at my feet. There was a moment of silence.
"(y/n)." Levi spoke up.
"Yes?" I looked up at him. His eyes looked different, like they were telling me he was sorry.
"You're here to help us discover the origins of the titans, that includes studying Eren. You need to pull yourself together." Levi explained. I let out a small sigh and nodded.
"Why did you drag me away?" I asked.
"I did say that the Military Police can handle them, didn't I? I figured you need more training, and anyway, I think we need to pay a visit to your house." Levi explained. I gasped.
"My house? What for?!" I asked, raising my voice a little.
"To see if there is something more resourceful to research." Levi answered.
"But hang on a second. We are both responsible for looking after Eren. We can't just leave him alone." I pointed out.
"Point taken. That is why we'll be bringing him with us. And we'll bring four eyes since it'll probably make her feel better." Levi explained.
"I understand. I'm with you all the way." I replied, smiling.
"Good. Tomorrow morning we'll head to your place, in the meantime you and I will train. And if you impress me again, I'll even consider giving you a weapon."
"Right..." I murmured.
"You complaining?"
"No sir." I replied. He really does see me as a weakling. And the way he mocks me, hurts me a little.
"You're weak. You'll never survive on your own."
I stopped. A voice? Familiar... Who was it?
"Hm? What is it now?" Levi questioned. I shook my head.
"No, it's nothing to worry about." I answered. I placed my hand on my shoulder, trying to stop my trembling. My head feels fuzzy. Dammit, what's going on?
Later that day, Levi trained me to fight some more. Again, I ended up with more scratches and bruises on me. I was laying on my stomach on the ground. For some reason, my body felt heavy and sluggish. Sleep was overcoming me. Like, I needed a long slumber.
"(y/n)? Get up." Levi ordered. I tried pushing myself up but then fell back down, this time, passing out.
Levi's P.O.V
I stared down at (y/n), as she was unresponsive. She couldn't be this exhausted already? I let out a sigh.
"Damn brat..." I cursed. I walked over and picked her up. She was really light. I noticed small scratches on her body. Hang on, where were the ones from yesterday?
I carried her back to HQ and laid her in her bed. She wasn't burning up, so she didn't seem sick. Maybe just tired. Weak brat. Once I tucked her in, I left her room without looking back.
What does she know about the Ackerman's? No, what does she know about Kuchel...? Seeing (y/n) laying in that bed, brings back memories I wish never existed.
Maybe it's not a good idea we go to hers. It's the underground city, of course it's not safe.
Your P.O.V
~Flashback~
"(y/n), this important so I want you to pay attention." Spoke my father. This was a few months before he went missing.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You are an adult now, and soon enough you will need to take over for me. You will need to be the one to find out about the titans and their intentions." Father explained.
"Me? But, I don't think I can bear that responsibility. I'm not as smart as you." I sighed.
"It's alright, I'll give you all the information I know. One day it will make sense to you. For now, just remember to devote your life to this. It is important. We must find out how to stop them."
"Yes, I understand father." I replied. Father walked over with a smile on his face.
"That's my girl. I knew you were a good girl ever since you were a baby." Father complimented, as he pulled me into an embrace.
"Father, promise me nothing bad will happen to you?" I spoke up, looking up at him. He chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"Of course not. Why, are you worried about your old dad?" He teased.
"Of course, I am. You are the only family I have. I know you are a brilliant man, but you're not immortal." I pointed out.
"You are right there. But neither are the titans." Father answered, stepping back. I watched him continue on with his work.
~Flashback over~
I woke up, overheating and covered in sweat.
"What the... what happened...?" I murmured. I slowly sat up and realised I was in my room. "H-How did I get here? Hang on, did Levi tuck me in?" I questioned myself, holding the blanket. He wouldn't do that, especially for someone like me. All I do is piss him off. I let out a sigh and hugged the blanket close to me.
