The meeting was over, and the Squad leaders began to make their leave. I however remained behind has I had a bit more to say. But also, Levi remained behind as well, closing the door after everyone left.

"What is it?" Erwin asked. Levi turned his gaze to me letting me speak first.

"I'll wait. You can go first." I answered, avoiding eye contact. I crossed my arms and turned my body the other way.

"What is it, Levi?" Erwin asked.

"This may sound impatient but, what do you think you'll do after retaking wall Maria? I'm guessing an offense plan comes first, but after that... What's next?" Levi questioned, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Eliminating threats. Outside the walls, there seems to be people hoping titans will eat us all down to the last person. As to whom, well if we have any luck we'll find that answer in the cellar. A full plan will have to wait. First we need to see what's in that room." Erwin explained.

"You realise I'm asking this now because you might not live that long." Levi pointed out.

I looked at him for a moment as I was surprised with his words. I wasn't expecting him to be so blunt.

"You're not exactly as bright as you used to be. Let Hange call the shots on this mission. In you're shape, you'll only be dead weight. Just sit back and wait for the good news. We'll tell the others we argued till you gave in. Which I will so not make it easier on both of us. What do you say?" Levi asked.

Erwin put his hand over his wound and turned his gaze the other way.

"No. Do what you need to, use me as bait. The chain of Command still remains. If I'm gone, then Hange. If Hange's gone, the next. It's true this operation will be extremely dangerous, but it'll also be the most important one in human history. That's why I've gone to such lengths, this is my plan, Levi. Without me leading you, you're less likely to succeed." Erwin explained.

"That's true. Without you, the operation might fail. But if you bite the dust out there, we're really screwed. So just stay safe at your desk and keep using that head of yours. As far as I'm concerned, that's the last thing the titans would want. You're the best weapon that humanities got." Levi explained.

It sounds like Levi really worries about Erwin. He's trying to persuade him to stay so he'll be safe. It's not something he'll admit but it's something that makes him a great person.

"No, you're wrong. Our best option is for me to gamble it all on the plan that I came up with-"

"Okay that's enough stop right there!" Levi interrupted, reaching his hand out.

"Anymore of those noble ass excuses, and I'm gonna break both your damn legs. Not too badly, they'll heal just fine. But you'll be too busted up to even think about joining us on the operation. And it'll be a bitch to get to the toilet." Levi warned.

I know he's being serious, but I can't help but find that amusing.

Erwin smiled and looked away.

"Don't like that idea much." He murmured.

"Normally I would agree with you, a wounded soldier should stay off the battlefield. However, that may be the day we learn the truth about our world, and I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it." Erwin stated, with seriousness in his eyes. Levi was surprised as well.

"Being there... Is that important? More than your legs?" Levi questioned, as he began to walk closer. I quickly stop up and stepped in the middle to stop.
