Hange and I were standing by the well, as Eren already crawled inside. Levi stood behind us.
"After Hange fires the smoke signal, it's safe. After what happens is entirely up to you." I exclaimed.
"Right! Ready when you are!" Eren called out, raising his arm. I smiled and stepped back.
"Now then, shall we step back and watch?" Hange suggested. I nodded, and Levi followed. After we were at a good safe distance, Hange shot a smoke signal.
"This better work..." I whispered.
"If the boy loses control, then he'll be trapped into the hole until he wears himself out, if not we'll go with Levi's method. Perfect." Hange whispered.
My heart was pounding at this point. This will be my first time seeing a titan shifter, and up close.
We waited a few minutes, but nothing happened.
"What's taking him so long?" I wondered.
"Hmm, I don't understand it, perhaps he missed the signal?" Hange wondered.
"Perhaps. Or perhaps we're just naïve that he can just turn it on and off." Levi pointed out.
I gasped. No way. That can't be right. We began to walk over to the well.
"Eren! Enough! We're done for today!" Levi ordered.
"Eren!" I called out. We looked in the well and we were shocked with what we saw. His hands were covered in blood and lips were too.
"I'm sorry... I don't think I can do it now..." He looked mortified. I don't know why but suddenly I felt angry. Angry that he couldn't transform?
We got him out of the well and I tended to his injuries. His hands weren't healing. Eren, Eld, Gunther and Oulo sat at the table. Hange looked confused where I just felt frustrated.
"You're telling me the bite wounds on your hands show no sign of healing?" Levi asked, looking a tinge annoyed.
"No sir."
"No offence but you're no good to us in this form. We have no chance of retaking wall Maria at this point. Pull it together, and yes that is an order." Levi scolded, as he began to walk off. I clenched my jaw and followed him.
"Levi!" I called out.
"What is it?"
"Stressing Eren out will do us no good. We will figure something out but, in the meantime, you need to lay off of him. At this point, I'm in charge of his actions." I pointed out. Wait, did I really just say that to Levi?! He looked pissed off with me.
"You're here to experiment on Eren's titan ability, if he can't transform then you are also useless to us." He scolded. I gasped. I'm not putting up with this.
"Listen here, I may not be a Commander or a Noble, but I am the daughter of a Doctor who is helping you defeat the titans. And yes, I am helping you defeat the titans. I chose to help you, I don't have to. And I'll have you know, I know a lot more than what you could even think of. Now, instead of being rude and insulting all the time, I expect a bit more respect than that, and yes that means you, Levi." I scolded. I was doing my best not to actually insult him.
He looked mortified. Just as he was about to say something, a huge explosion went off. A gust of wind blew us off our feet. Oulo, Gunther and Eld went flying. There was a lot of steam coming from the table. That's titan steam. I sat up and looked over. It wasn't a full titan. It didn't even have skin! In fact, Eren wasn't even infused with it, well, except for him arm. Levi and I rushed over.
