Chapter 122

"I can't believe we made it back right before dawn..." I mentioned, as I was gobsmacked.

"We can't waste any time. Let's move forward!" Erwin ordered.

We jumped on horses and headed straight for the wall.

"There could be titans anywhere so keep your guard up! This operation has officially begun! All troops switch to ODM Gear!" Erwin ordered.

We all stood up on our horses and lunged off for the wall.

Just remember the plan. First we seal off both holes on the walls. Then kill off the remaining titans trapped inside. The enemy will predict this and go straight for Eren, so we must keep our hoods on at all times. By the time they make their attack, we should already have plugged up both gates.

We made it to the top of the wall and I saw Eren, Mikasa and Armin looking at their old town. But this wasn't the time for any breaks.

"Eren! Hurry up! We need to get to the outer gate!" I shouted. Eren nodded.

"Right!"

We all began running in different directions. I was running right next to Levi.

"Hopefully this works." I mentioned, as I was keeping the pace up.

I looked back and saw Armin with his blade in the air signalling Erwin.

We then switched back to ODM gear and began moving inside the wall for cover.

We made it to the gate and a few of us stood back to back watching for any titans.

"How have we not seen any titans yet?" Hange wondered.

"We still have to continue." Levi answered.

She's right though. We should've already seen titans wandering around. It's morning now, so they would start to become active again.

Hange let out a smoke flare to give off the signal.

It's Eren's time to shine. I don't have to transform unless necessary. With the way things are going, maybe not at all. But it's still so strange that there aren't any titans in sight.

I looked up and saw Eren shot himself in the air and then a ball of light consumed him.

He stood in the gateway of the wall and began using his hardening ability. He let out a screech as the hole began to seal itself.

It was finished in a matter of seconds. I heard Eren rip himself from the nape but he was still stuck. Mikasa jumped down to his aid. She quickly grabbed him and brought him back up to the top of the wall.

"The enemy could strike any second! Stay on the lookout!" Hange ordered.

Eren's gear still seemed to be in good condition, however, his cloak was gone. Mikasa draped hers over his shoulders. He quickly put it on and covered his face with the hood.

"Thank you."

"How's it look?" Levi asked the soldiers below.

"Looks good over here!" He replied, shooting off another signal to let Erwin know it was a success.

"We pulled it off. Huh... Eren. Are you okay?" Hange asked, approaching him.

"Not even tired. All that trainings' paid off." Eren replied.

"We shouldn't waste time then. Everyone, head for the inner gate!" Hange ordered, leaping off the wall.

We began running across the wall.
