Chapter 33

Levi and I spent the next hour cleaning and tidying up the house. I decided to buy something to make dinner, since it was too late to go back to the surface, and I still hadn't done what I needed to do. I changed my clothes and went to the market.

I bought some vegetables and a small portion of meat. I turned around and I bumped into the three men again. Great, not this again. I went to avoid them, but one stood in front of me. The other two were behind me.

"What do you want?!" I asked, shouting.

"Nothing. I thought I recognized that pipsqueak that was with you. The Ackerman thug that used to live around these parts. Yeah, he slashed up a buddy of mine years ago, ain't that right?" He questioned the guy standing behind me.

"Yeah, damn brat left me with a scar." He replied, rubbing his hand. I gasped. Ackerman?! Levi's an Ackerman?! No way!! Levi Ackerman... Levi... Ackerman...

"I'm Kuchel Ackerman, and this is my son Levi."

A woman's voice spoke in my head. I can't believe it. I mean, I didn't know his last name, but... I never expected. It explains why he was curious about how much I knew about the Ackerman's... And when he questioned of Kuchel... It was... his mother...

I shoved past the drunk and made a run for it back home.

"Hey! Wait up!!" He called out. I ignored him and ran straight home. I went inside and leaned against the door catching my breath. Levi walked over and saw me.

"Oi, what happened?" He asked. I was too shocked to answer. I looked at Levi's face and an image of a little boy popped into place.

That's it. Levi and I have met before.

"(y/n)! Pay attention, what happened?!" Levi asked, practically shouting at me. I snapped back to reality and shook my head and laughed at myself.

"I'm alright, nothing bad happened. I was just lost in my own mind." I chuckled. Levi ruffled my hair and turned away. Should I ask him about it? No, it might just make him angry. I'll ask him about it later. I walked to the kitchen and started to prepare dinner. I tied my hair back into the messy bun and rolled my sleeves.

Levi's P.O.V

(y/n's) been acting strange, too strange in fact. The way she looked at me before was something I've never seen. I saw shock and guilt in her eye. I walked to the kitchen to see what she was up to and I saw she was preparing dinner. I didn't think much of it until something caught my eye. The back of her neck was covered in strange scars. Scratches and... needles? What has she been through?

I finally finished cleaning up, and (y/n) quickly went to check her room. The pot of soup was boiling so I decided to go get her. I knew which room was hers, so I went to knock, but I noticed it was open by a crack and I heard (y/n) mumbling to herself. I peeked in to see what she was going.

"It just doesn't make any sense... It was deeper than that. So how is it already healed?" She was muttering. I looked and saw what was left of her wound. Completely healed. I was shocked. Is she... Is (y/n) a titan shifter? (y/n) had an expression of anguish and pain. I know her, she wouldn't want me to know, she wouldn't want anyone to know. She keeps the important things bottled up inside her. I decided to leave her alone and went to finish off dinner myself.

Your P.O.V

I heard footsteps walk away from the door. Shit, did Levi hear me? Hang on, was he spying on me?! I let out a heavy sigh and stand up. I walked out, and I saw Levi working on dinner. From the sight of it, it makes it look like we are a married couple. Wait what?! What did I just think?! Levi and I?! Married?! Ahhh!!!

I slammed my face into the wall multiple times, trying to erase the thought. Levi looked over and saw.

"What the hell are you doing?" He asked. I stopped and looked at him. "Your face is red." He pointed out.

"No, it's not! Shut up!" I cried, covering my face.

"What's wrong with you? You're acting funny."

"N-No! Nothing's wrong with me! Aha! You see? Nothing can scare me! I'm ready for anything!" I boasted. I had my eyes closed and I was laughing like a maniac. Like this is making me look any cooler. Come on (y/n)!

"So, this wouldn't surprise you?" Levi questioned.

"Huh?"

Suddenly Levi came over and pinned my hands against the wall, bringing his face extremely close to mine.
