~Flashback~

I am restrained, stuck, numb, paralysed. My body hurts. I'm scared, nauseous.

"She's awake, wanna start now?" Asked a strange man. Four of them circled me, they looked down at me like I was a dying animal they had to put down.

"Let me go! Daddy!" I cried, tugging and pulling my restraints.

"Shut it brat!!" A man bellowed, as he struck me across the face.

"Wow, didn't think you were the type to abuse a child." Mocked one of the other men.

"Shut up, I don't care if she's a kid or not, she's still valuable to us, we also need to know what makes her tick." He exclaimed, as he gripped my hair and pulled. I winced in pain as the tears rolled down my face.

"Man, this brat cries a lot, can't we just start now?"

"Yeah, but we can't go overboard. We'll mess with her now, then inject her to see if it works." The other man mentioned, as he was holding a weapon. I shrieked to the fear.

Hours have past, they torture my body, I bleed, cry and scream. I'm in hell, pure hell.

~Flashback over~

"(y/n). (y/n)!" Hange called out. I snapped back to my senses and looked around.

"Y-Yes?" I replied.

"Are you okay? You've been out of it for a while." Mikasa questioned. I giggled and shook my head.

"I'm fine! Just lost in my train of thought." I stuttered. They were giving me serious looks.

"Then why are you crying?" Eren asked, pointing at my face.

"Eh?" I touched my cheek and realized I had tears running down my face.

"What's wrong?" Armin asked with a worried expression on his face. I quickly wiped my eyes and laughed the tears away.

"I'm an emotional person, sometimes I just cry whenever the mood hits me." I lied through my smile. I gazed at Levi and noticed he knew that I was lying. He is the only one who knows, but he isn't saying anything so nobody else finds out. I feel relieved that he's being so kind.

"You need to take it easy, you've been working yourself to death." Hange gestured.

"What are you talking about? I'm just doing my job. I'm fine, really." I replied, waving my hand towards her. She looked like she didn't believe me either. I can't say anything, they won't understand or worse.

We arrived and made our way inside the building. I was walking behind everyone else.

"You are a monster! They will find out, and when they do, they'll dissect you like the titan you are!"

I stopped dead in my tracks and covered my forehead with my hand.

"Dammit, why now...?" I murmured to myself. Nobody noticed and continued walking, leaving you behind.

"Face it, your purpose in life is to die."

I staggered back until I bumped into the wall, leaning against it. They voices are getting louder.

"Stop... Shut up..." I muttered, blocking my ears.

"(y/n), you coming?" Levi called out. I gasped and looked at his direction. I straightened myself up and ran over to him. He notices bits of sweat on my face. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I replied instantly.

"Liar."

"I'm not lying, it's nothing you need to concern yourself about." I replied, looking away from him and continue walking. I realized that we were in the underground tunnels, with hundreds of people moving through, evacuating from their home. Levi and I saw Nick standing at the exit of one tunnel, watching everyone moving. His face had grief and remorse on it. Levi kicked him in the back to keep him moving.

"No one said stop, a rolling stone gathers no moss." Levi snapped. I grabbed his arm and moved him back.

"This is..."

I stood next to Nick and looked at his expression.

"What were expecting from all this? This is the outcome from when the walls give, and the titans move in." I commented. He looked mortified, and before he could walk towards them, Levi grabbed his shoulder and stopped him.

"No. Take it in Holy man, these are the faces of people who have lost everything they ever had. Human beings you and your kind abandoned. Hard to look at it I imagine, but if the church had their way this would be all of us. Titans would pour in and make a feast of what's left, shoving man, woman and child down their gullets. All humanity digested as one." Levi spoke in a cold voice.

"You will be the cause of death for all these people. As long as you exist, people will continue to suffer."

After we made it to the next HQ, Eren and the others were getting ready to head out. I am staying with Levi, as we were "both" still injured.

From the voices in my head, made me nauseous and I had to sit down for a moment.

"(y/n), come outside for a bit?" Levi requested. I nodded and followed him outside where it was pitch black and no one was around. The only source of light we had was the moon, and the light source from inside.

"Is something wrong?" I question. Levi leaned against the wall and crossed his arms.

"Be honest with me, you are still hearing voices, correct?" Levi questioned glaring at me, his patience wearing thin.

"I... Yes..." I mumbled. I looked down in shame.

"Why didn't you just be honest with me?" Levi questioned.

"I just don't want you to worry about me. You've got enough baggage on your shoulders." I murmured.

"I'm a little injured, there's no need to worry so much about me. You need to worry about yourself. It's not healthy." Levi exclaimed, as he was looking at me. I let out a sigh.

"I feel like I'm going mad." I mumbled.

"Huh?"

"Nothing." I replied. I turned to walk back inside but Levi grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. I was turned to face him, and he placed his hand over my forehead.

"You're burning up a little bit. Don't push yourself and stay with me." Levi instructed.

"Okay then. I need to continue working though. I cannot stop." I replied, as I held Father's journal close to my chest.
