Third Person P.O.V

Jean was leading Hitch and Marlo to an area unseen. He was holding a dagger in his hand and he made them stop near the side of a rocky cliff.

"We'll forget everything we saw here." Marlo mentioned, as the two turned to face Jean.

"Yeah, you will! Because both of you will die here!" Jean replied, with a psychotic expression. He raised the dagger up high for display.

The two flinched and stepped back. Hitch latched onto Marlo in fear. He raised his hands up in protest.

"That's not what he said!" He called out.

"Letting you two run free is too dangerous. I'll take it upon myself to kill you!" Jean threatened with a smirk.

"Please, believe us! We know you guys are fighting to try and save humanity! Right, Hitch!?" Marlo muttered. Hitch nodded her head in fear.

"As if I could trust you. Especially you, Mr. Bowl Cut. Who in their right mind would cut their hair like that? You'll get no sympathy from this guy!" Jean yelled, as he began charging towards them, but somehow fell over, losing the grip of his dagger.

It landed in front of the two and Marlo quickly grabbed it.

"Hitch run for it!" Marlo yelled. Jean quickly got up and shoved his arms up with the dagger still in hand. He shoved a stick under his chin. Hitch quickly made a run for it.

"My gun is faster, you know. Wanna take your chances? You knife and my gun... Let's race!" Jean mocked.

"Wait! I'm really your ally!" Marlo cried out.

"Why the hell would anyone believe you'd wanna join us? We're so severely outmatched, you really think we can save humanity?" Jean questioned.

"Then, why are you...? Why are you still with the Scouts then?" Marlo asked, which really got to Jean. His expression changed, and he looked down.

"I picked the wrong regiment to join. As long as you guys have it in you to risk your lives and keep fighting... I will trust you." Marlo explained, as he tossed the dagger away. Jean was surprised by his actions. He seemed relieved when suddenly...

Hitch quickly came and smacked Jean in the face with a stick, causing him to collapse.

"Hitch!" Marlo called out.

"You damn horse face!" She went to strike again when Marlo quickly jumped in her way.

"Wait, Hitch! He was just testing us!" Marlo exclaimed.

"Huh?!" Hitch was shocked and confused.

"Hey, you. What would you have done if I swung the knife at you? Why do you trust me so much?" Marlo questioned.

"Somehow or another, you remind me of a guy I hate. A damn idiot." Jean muttered, as he was still stunned from the hit.

"This idiot... Is it the same one Annie talked about?" Marlo asked.

Jean opened his eyes in surprise.

"Hell if I know." He replied, sitting up. "Everyone's an idiot."

Marlo held his hands out for help and Jean gladly took them, standing up.

"Fortunately, we're both just as dumb. Marlo, I think you proved your dedication. That should be enough to convince Captain Levi. We're counting on you." Jean explained.

Nearby there was someone watching them from high up.

"Interesting... Very interesting..." The voice softly spoke, before zipping away on 3DM Gear.

Time lapse- Levi's P.O.V

Marlo and Hitch led us to an area some of the Military Police were hiding.

"That over there is the least manned checkpoint around." Marlo explained.

"Alright. We'll handle it ourselves. Get back to your squad before it's suspicious." I ordered.

"Yes, sir." They both replied, before leaving.

"Marlo, Hitch." I spoke up. They stopped and looked over. "We're grateful." I praised. They both turned their bodies towards me and saluted.

"Sir!"

I turned and faced our targets.

"Let's go! It's our turn to pick a fight!" I ordered.

Connie, Sasha and Jean took a wagon and headed for an ambush to their checkpoint. They went crashing through their loads of stock and defences.

The rest of us went for the ambush to take everyone out. Soon after I ordered the others to retreat into the forest and wait for my return, as I dealt with the idiots.
