I learned that the Levi squad will be positioned in the safest area of the formation. I was slightly relieved but also worried for everyone else. The expedition was in two weeks, that's the time I'll be spending learning about Eren's titan abilities. Hange and a few other soldiers accompanied us as we set up for a few.

"I think the safest thing to do is to put Eren in restraints while he's in his titan form. I'm not planning on tying him up and bolting him, that might just make him angry. We don't know how much control he'll have in titan form. The well not too far from here should be enough. Have Eren go inside, transform, then he will be stuck in the ground. Then, Hange and I will gather as much information and specimens as we can." I explained, layering out the plan.

"That's some good thinking. Do you think this will actually work?" Eld asked.

"I'm certain of it. And if needed to be, we can cut Eren out if things get too out of hand. While in titan form, we need him to stay put for as long as possible, because as soon as he gets out, the body will begin to deterialize." I explained.

"Genius. You really know it all huh?" Gunther complimented. I blushed a little and tied back my hair.

"I'm just doing what father would have done. If we can make sure he's under control, there will be other things I want to do. I want to test his intelligence." I added.

"How so?" Petra asked.

"The Colossal and Armoured titan knew exactly what they were doing when they crashed through the walls of Shiganshina, my guess is that they are just like Eren. Titan Shifters. They broke through the walls purposely to lead the titans in. If successful, we can use Eren's ability outside the walls. But the downside is that the titans will even attack him as he were still human." I explained.

"So, our safest bet is to not let him transform unless absolutely necessary?" Eld suggested.

"Exactly. He's safer in human form at this stage. He won't be so vulnerable." I answered.

"We'll have to protect the little brat?" Oulo groaned, crossing his arms.

"Why else is he here?" Petra asked, elbowing him in the gut.

"Anyway, I want to start these experiments as soon as possible. The sooner the better." I stated.

Levi stood up and walked over to the chalk board.

"That means it's good news. Stopping him without having to kill him." Levi stated.

"Oh? And how is that?" I asked. Eren walked over. Levi then began to draw a diagram of his plan.

"In your titan form we may have some middle ground after all. The method I've come up with will only leave you mutilated, well at least in theory, depends on individual skill. We cut the entire nape from the body with you inside. Your arms and legs will be severed halfway down in the process, but you'll survive. As a matter of fact, they'll probably just grow back lizard style, creepy little bastard." Levi explained.

"H-Hold on a sec! I'm not sure how they do it, I mean they might but maybe it's not worth the risk." Eren stuttered.

"Oh, I see, you're only up for this if there's no risk involved whatsoever." Levi pointed out.

"N-No..."

I stepped forward.

"Eren, I read a report from your friend Armin, and from what I've learned, when you were in the battle of Trost, you had your leg bitten off when you were recklessly speeding through the streets, then your arm bitten off when you pulled Armin out of the jaws of a titan. And look now, you have perfectly good working limbs. I highly doubt you'd be left with just stumps." I explained.

"Nice going putting the brat in his place." Oulo snickered.

"It's a risk, but it's better than you going crazy and killing everyone. It's a fair deal if I do say so myself. What other options would we have?" I asked.

"Sorry, seems perfectly fair to me." Eren replied.

"Just so we're clear, we can start the experimenting?" Hange asked. I nodded.

"We're all set to go. Have you got everything set up and organised?" I asked.

"Yup! Now all we need is Eren." Hange cheered. I smiled.

"Good then. Let's get started."

Levi's P.O.V

After seeing (y/n) explain her strategy, makes her look stronger and more like her father. Maybe she isn't just a weak useless girl.

"(y/n), you got a minute?" I asked.

"Hm? Yes, I suppose." She responded, looking over at me.

"Good, step into the hall with me." I requested. She nodded and followed me out into the hall.

"Is there something wrong, sir?" She asked.

"Not particularly. But are you sure your plan is going to work?" I asked, crossing my arms. She had a serious expression on her face.

"It's the safest bet. This is the only thing I could think of that actually has a chance at working. Without Eren, we are completely in the dark. If Eren goes berserk, then you'll kill him. I can't defy you, Levi. But, I promise I'll do my best, so it doesn't have to come to that." She explained, with a look of determination.

"Your dead set about this?" I asked.

"Yes! Even if it costs me my life, I will see my mission through to the end." She spoke, then she saluted. I was surprised with her words. Her eyes show no fear at all, except, one thing. Doubt.

"Alright then, let's hope it doesn't come to that. You've got quite the brain and we need you. Besides, I'd hate to see you dead, especially before we find your father." I pointed out. Wait, what? What did I just say? I noticed her face was a little flushed. Dammit, come on.

"A-Anyway, you and Hange take Eren outside. I'll be on the side watching." I ordered.

"Yes sir." She replied.
