Levi X Reader A mission worth dying for

Chapter 55

"(y/n), we have to get out of here." Levi exclaimed as he walked towards me. I hugged my mother's body tighter.

"No! No, I'm not leaving her! I don't care what you say, I'm not leaving my mother out here!" I cried. Levi remained silent with a cold expression. "I already left her once, and all my life I regretted it, this time I'm going to stay with her!" I cried, as tears clouded my vision. I suddenly had large sharp pain hit my head, and I covered my forehead with my hand.

"Your selfishness has driven to your mother's death. It's your fault, you killed her..."

"No! It's not my fault! I tried to save her! I wanted to save her! This wasn't supposed to happen!" I cried. I clung to her body and as she remained still. "All this... All this was for nothing!! What the fuck was this all for?! Why?! Why does it have to turn out like this?! Why do I have to be such a coward?!" I screamed.

I'm a coward... I failed... I failed to save my own mother... I wanted to be with her, protect her, live with her. I wanted to save her, I wouldn't care what would happen to my life.

"(y/n)... Live... Please.... I...I... Love.... You... sweet... angel...."

She wants me to live... I can't ignore her final wish... She saved my life by sacrificing hers... She did this because of me... It's my fault... It's all my fault.

"(y/n)! Calm down!!" Levi bellowed, as he approached me. I buried my head in mother's shoulder.

"I'm not leaving her here! I don't care if you think she's unimportant! She's my mother and I'd rather die than leave her again!!!" I bellowed, giving him a look of rage. Levi's eyes widened at my sudden outburst. Levi then lowered his head and kneeled before me.

"We need to get you out of here, we'll take her body back to give her proper burial, but for now we need to focus on retreating..." Levi explained. I gasped and lowered my guard.

"Levi..." I sniffled as I began sobbing again.

Levi gathered a horse and I jumped on with my mother's body sitting in front of me. Levi sat on a horse next to me. Eren had already run off with Mikasa. We looked over and saw Reiner making a charge towards us. Eren stopped and faced him.

"STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!" He bellowed. The same shock shot through my head. All the titans surrounding us began sprinting and attacking Reiner.

"What the hell...?" I muttered. Why are they suddenly listening to Eren? What's the explanation for all this? Reiner wanted Eren for a specific reason, maybe they knew what Eren could do? Is Eren... Is Eren the Coordinate?

Hours have passed, and we finally arrived at HQ.

I took my mother's body and put it in a room safely as I had other things to attend to. Firstly, Erwin. I needed to treat his injury. I didn't tell him about mother, Eren, Mikasa and Levi are the only ones who know, and I'd like to keep it that way. I patched his wound up and for a few days, Erwin remained unconscious.

I buried mother away from the city, outside the walls to be exact. Where there were no titans around. I didn't put a gravestone, I didn't want anyone to disturb her slumber if they ever found her. I stood in front of her grave, feeling sick to my stomach.

"Mother..." I cried. Levi stood a couple feet away from me, letting me have my moment. The memories of my childhood were back. All of my forgotten memories have returned, and I plan to take action for the memories that were stolen from me.
