Sohma's P.O.V

"Hurry Faye! If we don't hurry, we'll miss it!" Shouted my younger brother Grisha.

"Wait up, Grisha!" Faye yelled, as she ran next to him.

"Not so fast." My mother stopped them before they could run out. She approached them with the armbands. She put them on their arms.

"Don't forget again. You can't go outside without your armbands. And Grisha, you mustn't go outside the walls for any reason." Mother requested.

Faye rushed out the door in excitement.

"Wait for me!" Grisha yelled, as he chased after her.

"Don't worry mom, we'll be good." Grisha cheered.

"Yeah we'll see you later, okay?" Faye cheered.

Mother walked back inside and sighed.

"Those two are always full of energy..." Mother murmured, as she sat down at the table.

"What do you expect from a couple of kids?" I asked, as I rested my elbow on the back of the chair.

"Sohma, they're your siblings. I know you're a lot older than them, but that doesn't mean you can treat them any differently." Mother scolded.

I sighed and turned my gaze away.

I'm four years older than Grisha, which makes me fifteen years old. I'm currently training to be a medical doctor for the Military. It's very rare they actually allow Eldian's to work for the Marley government. But they are impressed with my skills and knowledge, so they have no choice but to accept me. My father died when I was a baby, so I have no memory of him. Mother remarried into the Yeager family, but I refused to take on the name, and I wanted to keep my father's name. He was a well respected doctor and the Zaki name was quite known. I may not remember him, but I look up to him like any son would.

My stepfather does nothing but tell the others lies about our people. He tries to make them feel guilty for something none of us did. It's what our government wants us to believe, but I don't think it's right to teach your own children. I refuse to listen to his lies, so most of the time, I'm off at the library studying.

"Well, I'm going to the library now." I spoke, as I stood up from my chair.

"Again? But you're there all day..." Mother whispered, as she had a depressed look on her face.

"I have to. There's an entrance exam coming up for the medical school and I want to pass. Don't worry, I'll be back tonight." I explained, as I gave mother a gentle smile.

There was actually another reason why I wanted to go to the library. Of course I go there to study, but there was something else that made me want to go.

When I arrived, I already saw the person that gave me reason to come here. A young blonde that comes in here almost every day. Dina.

I approached her and sat beside her. She noticed me and smiled.

"Oh, it's nice to see you again, Sohma." Dina greeted.

"You as well, Dina. You're here early again." I pointed out, as I grabbed my books from my bag.

"Yes. I just wanted to see if I could beat you again. You're one of the first people here so I wanted to see if I could beat you for a change." Dina teased, as her cheeks flushed red. I felt mine do the same.
