~flashback~
"(y/n), rest up you have a fever." Father comforted, as he gave me medicine.
"Father...." I mumbled, breathing heavily. My whole body was burning up.
"Is there anything you would like?" Father asked, stroking my head. When he asked that, I began crying as there was only one person I wanted to see.
"I wanna see mother..." I mumbled. Father's face twisted, looking depressed.
"I want to see her too, (y/n). But, we can't. Not anymore." Father replied, with his hands trembling.
"No... I want mother... Please... I want to be with her..." I cried. Father stood up and walked out of the room for a moment. He then came back in with what looked like to be medicine.
"You need to focus on recovering. Here, eat this." Father was holding a shortcake and a glass of water, along with two pills. He mixed the pills in with the water and I watched it dissolve. He then helped me drink the medicine down. I then immediately passed out.
"(y/n)... You don't need to remember that now. You should just forget about her, forget about your mother. You will remember one day, but not now." Father whispered, helping me lay back down. "You are only seven years old... You can't start giving into madness now..."
~flashback over~
I woke up gasping for air. I looked around and I was still outside, but no sign of Levi. Did he just ditch me? Hang on, why does my body feel like it's being carried? I looked down and saw that someone was carrying me. I turned around to see who it was and to my surprise it was Levi.
"Levi? W-What happened?!" I blurted.
"So, you're awake then, brat. From what I saw, you freaked out then passed out. Mind telling me what that was all about?" Levi question, as he continued to carry me.
"I... I'm not quite sure..." I replied, in a quiet voice. "Lately, my memories have been giving me headaches."
"How so?"
"Um, well... If I tell you, promise not to tell anyone else?" I requested, looking in his face.
"What, do I look like one of your teen friends? Tell me already. I won't say a thing."
"You see, I can't remember the first thirteen years of my life. I suffer with short term memory loss you could say." I replied. Levi had a look of surprise.
"What caused it?"
"I don't know for certain. But with that said, I haven't lost anymore memories since so I'm at no disadvantage when it comes to studying the titans." I mentioned, trying to sound cheery.
"That's better at least. Anyway, are you okay to walk on your own?" Levi asked.
"I think so."
Levi put me down and I managed to walk on my own.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't too heavy, was I?" I wondered. Levi shook his head.
"How much do you weigh? You are too light for your looks." Levi questioned.
"I haven't weighed myself recently!" I blurted, feeling embarrassed.
"I'm surprised. I was certain you were a heavy thing."
"That's rude!" I pouted.
"Come on. We need to finalize the formation." Levi ordered. I nodded and followed.
Finally, the day came. The day we venture outside the walls. Everyone was in their positions. I was about to head out with only what Levi taught me when it came to combat and escaping. This is the time we reclaim what was lost.
Eren was positioned next to me and Levi was positioned in front of the squad.
"You ready for this, Eren?" I asked, looking over.
"Yeah... You?" Eren asked. I nodded.
"Nervous, but I'm ready." I replied.
"We need to focus only on getting to wall Maria, so don't be reckless and get yourselves killed. It'd be a pain if the too rookies were the first to go." Oulo mocked.
"Take your own advice." I blurted back.
"Gate opens in thirty seconds!" Shouted a soldier.
Eren and I looked over and noticed a couple kids looking over with excitement. I clenched my fists. Father, I hope to see you again.
"This is it! Today has come for humanity to take another step forward! Now let's show those titans exactly what we're made of!!" Shouted a soldier. Everyone cheered to that. The gates began to open.
"FORWARD!!" Ordered Erwin. We all started moving on our horses. "It's officially begun! The 57th recon mission! SCOUTS MOVE OUT!!" Erwin ordered.
