My eyes shot open to blurriness. The first thing I saw the was ceiling. I felt my hands clenched tightly. My breathing was irregular. My body felt like it was stuck in a sauna for who knows how long. My mouth was dry.
"Hey!" Suddenly Levi appeared in front of me with a look of worry. He placed his hands on my shoulders and hovered over me.
"L-Levi...?!" I was surprised to see him. I shouldn't have been, I should have suspected him to be here.
I did my best to calm my breathing. I took a deep breath and then exhaled. I then pushed myself up in a sitting position. I placed my hand over my sweaty forehead. I turned my head to look at Levi and he was sitting on a chair beside me.
"What happened?" I asked, as I placed my hand back down.
"What do you think happened?! You injected yourself with I don't know what! What did you do?!" Levi questioned, raising his voice.
"I wanted to know what the truth was behind the artificial titans, about my titan. I remembered my Uncle telling me that he had a syrim that contained his spinal fluid with his memories. I wanted to see if he was telling the truth so I tried it." I explained.
"And?!"
"I'm pissed." I replied, looking forward.
"You're pissed?! How do you think I feel?! You refused to do anything for two whole weeks! You refused to eat or speak or even look at me?! Do you even know how worried I was?! I've had enough shit happen already and the last thing I wanted was for you to break down!" Levi yelled, as he grabbed a hold of my wrist and squeezed it.
I was struggling to read Levi's expression. He was mixed with anger, frustration and sadness. I could see that he was clenching his jaw tightly.
"I'm sorry Levi... After hearing what happened... I couldn't forgive myself... I failed to take down the Beast titan, and then all of you come to my rescue, resulting in the rest of the Scout Regiment to perish because of my failures. Erwin died because I was too weak..." I explained, as I felt my voice beginning to sound choked. My eyes felt wet. I did my best to keep myself from crying.
"No. There's no way you could've won either way. Even if you managed to take down the Beast titan, those other titans would have jumped on you at once, overwhelming you." Levi mentioned.
Then it hit me.
"What happened to those titans? After I saw you go after the Beast titan, I blacked out. The next thing I remember is waking up next to Armin with him explaining what happened." I responded.
"You really don't remember?" Levi questioned. I looked at him and he looked surprised to hear that I had no memory.
"No? What happened after I blacked out?" I wondered.
"You went berserk. I don't think you were even aware of it, but right after the Beast titan escaped, he ordered the artificial titans to attack me. Before I could react, you were on top of them, slaughtering all of them. I've never seen a titan more berserk, not even Eren. You took them all down without so much as a blink of an eye." Levi explained.
"I did...? What happened after that?" I wondered, feeling my heart face faster.
"You devoured most of them... It wasn't until I had to stop you from eating the last one. But you were so in rage that you didn't recognize me and lashed out at me. I managed to cut you out of the nape before anything else happened." Levi explained.
I tried to attack Levi?! Wait... I devoured human beings?!
I had the sudden urge to vomit. I covered my mouth with my hands and did my best to stop myself. Levi leaned over and put his arm around my shoulders. My eyes got watery and tears dripped onto my lap.
