Promoted to Section Commander? This is so unreal. I can't believe it... Does Levi know? What will he say about it?
I stumbled back to the room, as my head was spinning from the sudden news. When I arrived, Levi walked out like he was leaving again.
"Oh, (y/n). How did it go?" Levi asked, closing the door behind him.
"I uh..."
"What is it?"
"T-They promoted me to... Section Commander..." I muttered.
Levi's eyes widened and his body went stiff.
"Section Commander? Whose idea was this?" Levi asked, sounding alarmed.
"Erwin and Zachery both discussed it apparently." I answered.
"Tch. What were they thinking..." Levi walked past me with a glare.
"What? What do you mean?" I asked, as I began to follow him.
"Why would they promote you to Section Commander?" Levi asked, sounding annoyed.
"Erwin said that if something were to happen to him, Hange would take over as Commander and I would be Second in Command. All the other Section Commanders are dead so there's nobody else to fill that role." I explained, as I was trying to walk at the same pace as him.
"That's exactly why it's a bad idea. You're a Doctor, not a Soldier." Levi commented.
"Excuse me? What do you mean I'm not a soldier?! I've thought along side you just like the others! I'm a part of the Scouts which makes me a soldier. It's true I never had formal Military training but that doesn't mean I'm any different. And the fact that I am a titan shifter means a lot more. I thought you would at least support me on this. I don't know why you're so against the idea of me having a higher rank." I explained, feeling frustrated.
"Well I'm not. I'm going to talk to Erwin and have him revoke his decision." Levi stated, as he walked ahead.
I clenched my jaw and ran in front of him.
"No you're not! I will not let you take this away from me! I know Hange will be against it as well so it's pointless to try. Don't get stubborn again and make everyone miserable." I scolded.
Levi didn't say a word, instead he just glared at me. I was furious with him right now and I couldn't stand to look at him.
"Don't talk to me for the rest of the day." I said, coldly. I turned around and walked away leaving Levi alone.
I stormed down the hallway towards Hange's office. Surely she would give me some closure. I knocked on the door and she yelled for me to come in.
"Hey Hange, are you busy right now?" I asked, walking over to her desk.
"I'm just preparing for this afternoon's evening. Erwin's going to go over the plans for the expedition with the other Squad leaders." Hange explained.
"I see. So it turns out I've been promoted to Section Commander." I mentioned, sitting down on the chair. Hange smiled and walked over to me.
"I heard. I'm excited to be working at the same Rank as you now. I know you'll do great things." Hange cheered. I was silent and didn't respond.
"What's wrong?" Hange asked.
"I want to be excited about it... However Levi was really angry about it and was against the idea. He even said he would talk to Erwin about revoking his decision." I explained, looking down to my feet.
"Ignore him, (y/n). He's just stubborn. Besides, Erwin won't revoke his decision. He and Zachery decided you were capable on taking on the responsibilities of this role." Hange explained.
