Chapter 63

Levi and I were walking down the hallway towards the mess hall. It was silent, when suddenly, Levi stopped in his tracks.

"Hm? What is it, Levi?" I question, stopping and looking back. He let out a small sigh and looked at me.

"I heard you." He responded.

"Eh? What do you mean?" I question, tilting my head. He remains silent, as it took me a minute to realize what he was referring to. I went red in the face and I covered my mouth.

"Y-You heard what I said?!" I muffled, through my hands. Levi gave a slight nod. I felt myself grow very weak at that moment.

Hang on, I didn't say anything bad, did I? Is he angry? I can't tell. His expression doesn't tell me anything.

"I heard some of it. I heard the last thing you said before Erwin started flapping his jaw." Levi responded.

"Levi is everything to me... I never want to lose him... I never want to be apart from him... Most of all, I never want to stop loving him, I always want to keep him close to my heart. If I forgot about him again, and found out afterwards, I would never forgive myself..."

I felt my face grow hotter when I remembered what I said. He must think I'm an idiot... I turned my body away to hide my embarrassment. I had my hands covering my mouth as I felt my eyes begin to water.

"Um, I... I'm sorry if it annoyed you... that I said that to the Commander..." I mumbled. I heard footsteps and suddenly two big arms embracing me from behind. I let out a small gasp and I lifted my head up.

"Don't be sorry. It just proves you aren't being sweet just in front of me. I now know your true feelings." Levi murmured, as he buried his face into the crook of my neck.

Hang on a second.

I stepped forward away from Levi and faced him with a scowl on my face.

"What do you mean you now know? You didn't know before? And after all the times I told you I-" Before I could finish my sentence, Levi stepped closer and shut me up with his lips. I was shocked by his sudden action, and this time didn't resist him.

He broke the kiss off and stared into my eyes.

"I already knew, but it's the first you've admitted to it to someone else." Levi replied. I remained blushing like an idiot, hoping this awkward moment would end.

Levi stepped back and continued walking towards the mess hall, leaving me behind. I shook my head to snap out of my phase, and I quickly rushed over to his side.

"You sure are a tease." I pout.

"Tch." Was all Levi responded with.

We arrived at the mess hall and saw everyone sitting down, eating and chatting amongst themselves. I eyed the room and saw Eren and the others sitting at a table a little far out. He looked fine since the last I saw him. However, I still felt bad for what I did, and I felt the courage drain right out of me. I stepped back and hid behind the wall. Levi noticed this and walked over.

"Brat, what are you doing?" Levi questioned. I was pressing my face against the wall and using my hands to hide the side of my face.

"I don't wanna go in there." I retorted.

"Tch, speak up!" Levi scolded.

"I don't wanna go in there!" I blurted.

"Why?"

"Because I don't wanna face Eren after that fight we got into..." I murmured.

Levi let out a large side and rubbed the side of his temple.

"You're the one who started it. If you feel bad, go apologize." Levi suggested.

"No!" I replied, shaking my head like a little kid.

"Stop being stubborn!" Levi scolded, grabbing my arm, and yanking me away from the wall.

"No!" I blurted, as I stumbled forward. Levi began leading me into the mess hall, and to avoid attention, I shut my mouth and remained quiet. We walked over to Eren's table, and he turned around and became aware of our presence. Eren looked at me for a moment, then narrowed his eyes away in disgust. I dropped my head and turned away.

"Listen brats, you guys will be joining my new squad. For further detail, I want you all in my office in an hour." Levi explained, crossing his arms. As he was talking, I took advantage of his distraction and began to sneak away. But as I was about to, I felt the back of my collar being yanked. I stumbled back onto the ground and noticed Levi had a hold on me.

Dammit.

"Eren, come with me for a moment." Levi ordered. Eren shot his attention to him.

"Y-Yes sir!" He replied, standing up. I stood to my feet and the three of us left the mess hall.

We went outside into the courtyard where nobody was around. If this is my chance to apologize, then I know he's not going to take it well, especially if we are alone.

There was an awkward silence between us. Levi was the first to speak.

"You two sort out your childish issues, I'll be making myself some tea." Levi ordered, as he began to walk away. My jaw dropped from the sudden action of him leaving.

Soon, it was just Eren and I. If I'm going to apologize, better now than never.

"L-Listen Eren, about last week, I'm sorry... I said some really horrible things to you, and you deserved none of it. You've got enough baggage on your shoulders, and I was just horrible to you. I'm so sorry." I explained. Eren stared at me with a surprised expression. He turned his gaze away as he scratched his cheek with his finger.

"I'm sorry too. I was harsh on you as well. I'm sorry, (y/n)." Eren apologized. I let out a sigh of relief and smiled. I noticed his cheeks were flustered.

"You okay? You seem feverish." I questioned. He shook his head in denial. I stepped closer and placed my hand on his forehead. That for some reason caused him to grow even redder in the face.

"Hm, you're not burning up. Do you need to go to the infirmary?" I asked.

"No! I'm fine!" Eren spouted. I giggled to his response.

"Listen, (y/n)... I... um..." Eren stuttered, as he lowered his gaze.

"Yes?"

"You see... I... l-l-l..." Eren's stuttering was making it difficult to understand his English.

"You what?" I wondered. Eren's face was beet red, and he was scrunching his face up.

"I can't say it... instead..." Eren stepped forward and grabbed a hold of my shoulders. Before I could react, he planted his lips over mine.
