Sohma's P.O.V

Another year has passed and the program was beginning to have high hopes. We began testing on people with disabilities and illnesses. We discovered that anyone injected with the syrim would have full health. Anyone with any kind of handicap would regenerate. At first, it was just looking like a cure for the weak, because months after injection, they would suffer cardiac arrest. We were still stuck in a loop.

I currently had one of the test subjects with me, who was terrified of the experiment. I couldn't blame him. I opened my suitcase and remembered that I still had the equipment from Grisha's. I remembered that I took a sample of (y/n)'s blood for testing to see if there was a cure for her illness.

I wonder... If royal blood added to the syrim would make a difference.

"Just wait here for a moment while I get the injection ready." I requested. I grabbed my things and went into my lab.

I took a tiny sample of (y/n)'s blood and mixed it in with the syrim. It shouldn't have a negative affect since it cures all illnesses. The current subject is suffering with the flu so hopefully it turns out differently this time.

I went back into the room.

"Alright. Just sit still for a moment." I walked up behind him and wiped his neck down with disinfectant. I then injected the syrim and stepped back.

"How are you feeling?" I questioned, putting the syringe on the table.

"It burns a little." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck.

"That's to be expected. Anyway, head back to your room and report back if you feel any different." I requested.

"Thank you, Doctor." He stood up from the chair and left the office.

I let out a sigh and rubbed my eyes.

"I need a break."

The next day, Dina called me to their house. Apparently they were getting a family picture done. I saw Zeke dressed in a small suit, and he looked rather uncomfortable. (y/n) was dressed up nicely, she resembled a doll.

"How's (y/n)'s condition today?" I asked Dina.

"She's doing much better. She's even started playing with Zeke a bit. She's laughing a lot more now and her walking is getting a lot better." Dina explained, looking happy.

"I'm glad to hear it." Because of the illness, it's slowed down (y/n)'s development a bit. It took her a lot longer to figure out how to walk, and she can barely make out sentences. She is able to communicate but not like the normal two year old.

Grisha walked over and picked her up into his arms.

Zeke ran over to Dina and she placed him onto her lap.

I can tell by looking into his eyes that he's tired from training. I can't imagine what goes on at home for him.

I watched them as their picture was taken. Zeke jumped off Dina's lap and ran over to me.

"Can I talk to you?" Zeke asked.

"Sure." Zeke grabbed my hand and led me out of the room until we were outside.

"What is it, Zeke?" I asked.

"Do you think I have what it takes to save Eldia?" Zeke asked, as his back was turned to me.
