I zipped over to the titan and stood next to Levi.
"What are you doing here?!" I asked.
"Never mind that, we need to get Eren out!" He shouted. I nodded and wrapped my arms around Eren's body, pulling him out of the carcass. We dragged him out and placed him on the ground. Mikasa went over and supported his body. I stood back and noticed Eren's face still had the infused marks. I looked over and a giant crystal was next to the decomposing corpses.
"What is this?" I questioned. I walked over and there I saw Annie was inside. I gasped. Jean was doing his best stabbing at the crystal with his sword. But it didn't even so much as crack the damn thing.
"All the shit we've been through and this is what we get?! Annie! Wake up! Come on, face the music! You owe us!! I know you can hear me!" Jean bellowed.
"Jean!" I called out. He looked over with an enraged expression. "That's enough. You can stab at it all day and nothing will happen. It's over, she's won." I explained. I placed my hand on the crystal and did my best to restrain my anger. It doesn't help with the damn wound still throbbing. I looked down and noticed it stopped bleeding.
"Someone get me a wire net! This thing belongs deep underground!" Hange ordered.
"Understood!"
I stood back and collapsed down onto the ground. I laid there and stared at the sky.
"All this death and destruction and it was all for nothing. So devoted to keeping her secrets... Dammit... What was the point of all this..." I covered my face with my arms, trying my best not to cry my frustrations.
I heard someone walk over to me, and it just happened to be Levi.
"Are you okay?" He asked with his usual stern expression. I didn't bother replying. Of course not. How can anyone be okay after this? I shook my head and sat myself up. My wound was still throbbing, at this point, it going to get infected. I stood up and began to walk away.
"Where are you going?" Levi questioned, grabbing my wrist.
"Home." I replied immediately. He looked surprised.
"You mean, underground?"
"Yes, that's what I mean. I need to find something, but I also need to patch myself up before I bleed to death." I answered, poking my tongue out with a grin. His expression stayed stern.
"Fine, I'm coming with you." Levi replied.
"No, it's fine." I answered.
"I wasn't asking. I'm going with you whether you like it or not." Levi exclaimed. Normally I would shiver to that tone, but this time I just laughed. It's probably due to everything that's happened today.
"Heh, well then, have it your way then." I replied, giving him a sad smile.
We arrived to the underground and everyone was shaken up from all the noise. They were still unaware of what was going on. Man, it feels like I haven't been here in years. It's already been three months... Man how time flies. I looked over and noticed Levi looking a bit uneasy being down here.
"Is something the matter?" I asked.
"It's nothing. Where is your house?" Levi wondered.
"Just a few more streets down." I replied as we continued walking.
I recognized a few people that I've received visits from for treatments. I even noticed a new who never liked father and would usually insult him whenever they were around. Seeing them made me feel uneasy. Some of them looked over and immediately recognized me.
"Hey, lookie here, It's (y/n)!" One of them called out, pointing in my direction.
"Hey, what do ya know, it is (y/n)!" Another one called out. I let out a sigh and tried to ignore them as I walked. Levi was watching them carefully.
"Where've ya been? Haven't see you in ages." Snickered one of the drunks as three of them walked in front of me.
"What do you want?" I asked, in a cold tone. They stood so close to us I could smell their breath, which made me want to gag.
"Look at the uniform, she's a member of Survey Corps!" Pointed out one of them.
"We missed you, (y/n). We were wondering if you wanted to have a drink with us." Bickered one of them, looking at each other.
"No thanks, I'm busy." I replied, as I walked around them.
"C'mon (y/n), have some fun with us!" I felt my wrist being grabbed. My instincts were to reach for my blade but right after Levi pointed his blade at the drunk's throat. He immediately let go and backed away.
"Keep your filthy hands off of her, you low life." He warned, with his cold glare. It was different than usual. He looked pissed.
"N-Now calm down, little man... W-We were only gonna have some fun with her..." The drunk muttered, as sweat formed on his forehead.
"What kind of fun?" Levi questioned, as the grip on his blade tightened. The drunks got nervous.
"Y-You know..."
Levi growled and went to swing is blade at them. I quickly reacted by wrapping my arms around his chest. I don't know why that, I could have just grabbed his arm, but I feel like it would stop him more.
"Don't Levi!" I warned. Levi gave me a confused look. We both looked at the drunks and they all ran away like the cowards they were.
I stepped away from Levi and he put his blade away. He looked at me with a frustrated expression.
"Does that happen a lot?" Levi questioned. I let out a sigh and nodded. "How often?"
"Whenever I was outside alone, and they were drunk like now." I replied, rubbing my arm.
"Have they ever done anything to you?" Levi questioned.
"No, they have tried but were never able to. I either fought my way out or father just happened to be nearby." I replied. Levi looked even more pissed than before. I wanted to reassure him, but it feels like nothing I say would work. I'm surprised he's even upset about it. Or the fact that he stuck up for me like that. He really is out of character.
Eventually we stood outside my house. It's my home, but it feels unfamiliar. I opened the door and the entire place was full of dust and cobwebs. I can't let Levi see this. I stood in front of the entrance.
"What is it?" Levi asked.
"Oh, it's nothing. I'm sure you don't want to come in..." I muttered, doing my best to keep him out. But he pushed right past me and walked inside. His face twisted as if he had just had a heart attack.
"This place is disgusting. Don't you ever clean!?" Levi scolded. I stepped back.
"In my defence, this place has been empty for a few months..." I murmured, as my body was trembling.
"The dust isn't all. There's paper all over the floor!" He snapped.
"I'll clean it up! I promise! I'm sorry!" I cried. Levi let out a sigh. He turned around and he took his jacket off. He then grabbed a broom and started cleaning. I watched him for a moment. It's not even his home and yet he's still helping me. He turned to look at me.
"Are you just going to stand there or what?" He scolded.
"I'm sorry!" I blurted.
